teioh 0 Posted December 23, 2006 the enemy AI is WAY to good. At 250m, enemy PKM shouldn't be killing my snipers in 2 shots while my snipers miss half of theirs. Friendly AI in humvees miss way too much and fire too slow. Is the AI bugged or am I going to have this to look forward to in the fullgame? You should be able to use your squad, not just have them sit in the back and use them as respawns.

teioh 0 Posted December 23, 2006 you mean the 14+ page one? Seems to me most people are talking about performance and aiming issues in that thread. This is a serious problem that I need to know if it's going to be fixed for retail. Is this supposed to be a game that is squad based, or a game where your friendlies can't help and you have to rambo to win?
OIK 0 Posted December 23, 2006 This what i hate most about this game. They shoot you with non sniper weapons and you dont have a clue were that came from.
Second 0 Posted December 23, 2006 Wellcome to battlefield oh dear friend... But yes there are issues about AI vs. player. Major ones are grass, and trees (leafs). AI sees thru them player doesn't. AI shoots too well (atleast in demo) even in novice level... that would be okay if AI wouldn't see thru leafs and grass. But now they are superior in many aspects. RN Escobar 0 Posted December 23, 2006 if the AI are too hard for you turn their skill level down, or turn friendly skill level up, either way BIS do such a good job with their programming ,unlike many other game developers, that they actually allow u to control things like this in the game. check this entire thread devoted to the topic Whole thread about AI skill and try searching before posting

somebloke 0 Posted December 23, 2006 Even the m249 is meant to have a range of about 800m.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted December 23, 2006 This is a serious problem that I need to know if it's going to be fixed for retail. Nothing will be changed for retail. The way the AI-controlled men behave on their virtual battlefield is the biggest "immersion-killer" in the game.
Wmdaniel 0 Posted December 23, 2006 depending on how the developer set the AI level for the mission or the game is telling you to try different tatics that is why you get killed more often than not. In the Demo I went alone with an AI team in co op and found that try using real cover besides grass, Hiding behind a brick wall and leaning out or a tree and so on. But also be vigilant in real operations the enemy is unpredictable. So expect to be gunned down at any given moment.

icebreakr 3159 Posted December 24, 2006 Agree, AI is great. ArmA is one of rare games when 10 coop human team takes the hill/village and enemy AI joins together and take it back without scripting(!. Last Thursday we had to fight for 30min to take once already taken position - with randomly placed enemy teams in each mission. 6 AI vs 6 human - we got 2 survivors... heavy bushes/trees area and AI didn't see us through more than we did see them. One sneaky bastard hid near the bush and surprised 2 of our members. Its quite bad that we didn't have any bombs in that situation, just 1 RPG...
madmossy 0 Posted December 24, 2006 imho the m249 is a little too accurate when your not proned. fired up the demo version just for a giggle yesterday and went onto that team map where you have to liberate the town. Think i racked up like 34 kills before i died, you can walk around with the m249 and use it like a rail gun if your reactions are fast it was fun as hell but hardly realistic. also found out that if you press and hold l-alt when using the m249 it locks your target recticle in place and you can hold down the fire button and get zero/minimal recoil even when standing.
