Norwegian soldiers v1.1

Recommended Posts

This addon contains the following units:

Jeger Teamleader

Jeger Sniper

Jeger Scout

Jeger Medic

Jeger Radio Operator

Weapons they carry:

G36a

M24

M16A2GL

M9

Updates:

The textures are heavly updated and details like the vest now look much more like the vest used by norwegian soldiers.

Back pack now looks more like it does in real life.

Another soldier model is used to better match the equipment used in real life.

I'll just call this addon v1.1 because there is an older version.

Also, I have made a small mission to go with the soldiers.

thanks to:

Nice , nice smile_o.gif .

However i have a question about Norwegian soldiers and how often they involve in real fighting across the world.

Are there any norwegian soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan?

And how good is the Norwegian national forces in comparison to the other scandinavian countries?

Theese soldiers are present in Afghanistan (in desert camo ofcourse) as a part of ISAF. There are norwegian soldiers in other countries too:

540 soldiers in Kabul, Meymaneh og Mazar-e Sharif

Kosovo Force (KFOR)

Bosnia

Sicilia

Sudan

to mention some

Source:  www.mil.no

The soldiers are seen as very good (expecially the special forces (HJK))

Don't know if I know enough to compare them with other scandinavian forces. confused_o.gif

I only downloaded these units since they had a mission to go with them. Very good idea to showcase them that way. They are nicely done, and the mission was nice as well smile_o.gif

Cool..

So what do you think of the unit organisation\placement\names... (I mean, that you find them under Bluefor\men\Norwegian Forces)

Plain and simple, right?

I hate it when my editor is full of different addon names and stuff...

I hope when f.ex other norwegian forces addons are made that they also can be in the Bluefor\men\Norwegian Forces "directory", if you know what I mean.

No other mumbojumbo..  make any sense?  confused_o.gif

yes, it makes total sense and is a good way to keep the names short and simple.

A suggestion if you think you may redo them at some point. One of the things that I notice is when people make uniforms but do not cut the camo textures to reflect how the uniforms are sewn together, then the camo pattern crosses seams where there would actually be a new piece of cloth which would shift the pattern. I've been making a couple psd templates for this for my own retextures and I could post a link for you tonight if you'd like. It has all the areas where the different areas of cloth would be sewn together on different layers.

Thats really the only thing I can see you might want to edit, but it's just a personal preference that most people never notice.

I hope to see more nice missions using these units smile_o.gif

you cant really compare the Norwegian Forces with Scandinavia, atleast not the Special forces. The FSK "Forsvarets Spesialkommando" that roughly translates to Amrys Special forces command. The command is has 4 main squad types at desposial the marine Special forces, the landbased (army) and the Paratroopers aswell as a allaround special force and countless smaller teams each with their special field. Ths force is considered by many leading expects around the world as one of THE best special force in the world, and the suprime best in winter / cold conditions and they've even recived the Presidential Unit Citation as the first special force since the Vietnam war.

Presidential Unit Citation:

FSK:

marine command:

theese forces has also served under USA in American uniformes in the hotes areas in Iraq and afghanistan.
