mr. Duck 0 Posted April 5, 2007 What exactly is the error that you guys get? Modelspecial? Does it has something to do with optics? Also, what special addons are you using? FFUR? ECP? About the smoke thing: I did not include any special scripts for any units yet. Thuse they have just as much features as the standard BIS units (with the exception that these units hear and see better, to simulate the in-build sensors in the helmets, note that the units without helmets see and hear as much as the standard BIS soldier). So far the main reason why I didn't use any scripts for these units is because my OFP game is usually played with ECP. And I like the the yelling (and the radio chatter in vehicles) during firefights. If I incorporate scripts now, I lose the yelling stuff. I have yet to find out how to implement a script without overwriting the ECP scripts... About the air units: I'm working on a dropship, and gunship. I dropped the idea of having a multifunctional vehicle that does both. Both vehicles already have a basic model (which is textured) but no additional geo/fire LOD's (including standard LOD's) yet. I also have a fighter model (untextured), well actually I have made multiple fighter models, but I'm not sure if I want to include it or not... Duck 0 Posted April 5, 2007 Dun worry dude, you'll get an (unfinished, interior needs stretchers) armored ambulance extra to play with, and an old tank that I made prior to the current Geryon tank. Although the old tank still has no complete interior yet. Ye sure, here's some pics: Gunship (no name yet) The final model should have some landing gear (ski's), and some small wings to attach weapons (excluding the gun, that will be close to the nose). Dropship (no name yet either) This one should need some more details (not texturing details just modelling details). Alas, my texturing skills are still very rudimentary, sorry bout' that. No, I have no intention of improving my texturing skills now, the next "big update" (that is after the air units and updated ground vehicles) will focus on scripts. redpride 0 Posted April 5, 2007 Wow! fancy models there,love that Gunship and the Dropship's a kick in the seat too! Maybe you can name the Gunship "Stealth Cobra" since it looks like a cross between an F117 and a heli. Sounds and looks exciting,can't wait.. One tiny suggestion though..could you improve the "zoom" on the troops rifle scopes? Being high tech soldiers and all their scope's zoom is much too inefficient. Mr Duck, your addons are a gift from heaven! I'm writing a story to get them into a series which I'm going to shoot still in OFP along with most of the best Mecha addons made for OFP (the Wanzer addons by Battle of Hokkaido mod and Ocrambass, the High-MACS, and some others too)... About the Gunship: redpride is right about it having to have Cobra in its name, because it looks like a Cobra snake - wide body right after the head, like the snake when it is in threatening/attack mode... awesome! And about naming conventions, well, I kinda had this habit of naming the vehicles after Greek mythological creatures, hence the Geryon tank (Geryon was a titan with three bodies or something, who got killed by hercules) and the Pegasus APC (winged horse). I forgot what I named the light tank though. So, if aybody knows a nice mythological Greek snake that fits with the gunships appearance and role. @D@nte: Thanks dude, like I said previously, I'm still not satisfied with the current fighter models I've made so far (two and a halve model), but yeah, ok, a fighter could be included. And about jeeps. I mentioned something about ground vehicles ne (I did not specificly told something about armor only...)? Oh, and High-Macs are some kind of mechs. I think it would look smashing if you'd add slanted ,veritcal "stabilising wings" to the mid and rear section of the gunship.The Mid section can be used to hold the firepower. Using a cutting-edge ,state-of-the-art , graphical interface (Gimp 2.2) I have rendered the utter coolness of your vessel's possible appearance that you could bestow upon it. Not that it's not cool already but one can never have enough coolness oozing out of them. Centurion, Hydra or Minataur just some names you can use. Luckily for us, talented addonmaker Rezin has brought them to OFP. You can download it from his site by going to the High-MACS section, which also contains some pictures of it ingame. I must admit I'm a real fan of Mecha stuff and I'm only happy that these addons exist for OFP, because with the possible exception of Front Mission: Online, it would be impossible to play with these mechs on the PC. There's also a Patlabor mech available on OFP.info, but I consider it a bit under-armed, compared to the competition but it is also done in great quality, you can find the AL 97 S "Hannibal" on OFP.info here - that one also made by talented addonmaker Ocrambass. With regards to missions, these units could perhaps go along with what Terra Nova had to offer, I must say it was a pretty cool game, although I've unfortunately only played the demo... Problem is, well, I need to figure out how to implement them without destroying the ECP eventhandler functions... Since well, I wanted to: - Have active defense for the armored vehicles (and aircraft) - Have boosterscripts for the VTOL's - Cloaking SpecOps - Retain compatibility with ECP (so, you still hear the Radio in the vehicles) But scripts are of later concern... Because, for some reason my gunship refuses to work with me ingame (error, p3d magic or something) I was also playing with the terminators from WH40k and I was thinking about using those anims for a heavy exo-skeleton unit...
