jammydodger 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Hi guys, not sure if this has been covered yet, but does anyone know if the altitude while flying will be increased in Arma? Cheers
Spetz 0 Posted September 4, 2006 well if they got a harrier jump-jet in the game then ofcourse the altitude will be increased
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted September 5, 2006 What are you talking about? AFAIK there's no limit to the altitude you can fly at.
aus_twisted 0 Posted September 5, 2006 By memory the OFP limit is 15,000 meters, once you go above this height you will die. I really dont see why you would ever need to go this high though?

Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted September 5, 2006 What are you talking about? Was that really necessary? No need for this kind of attitude.
stanhead 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Unlimited altitude would be a memory hogger, as well as unrealistic. You can't fly into space in a jet. A space mod would be cool though. Not one where you can actually fly around in space, but at a certain altitude you should be able to see stars and things (even during the day) as you get high enough to almost clear the atmosphere. As the air gets too thin you should lose acceleration and fall back down to earth (either that or a stall or something). (BTW this is my first post in years)
Big Dawg KS 6 Posted September 5, 2006 What are you talking about? Was that really necessary? No need for this kind of attitude. Er, it was a simple honest question, no "attitude" intended (sorry it seemed so), I suppose it could have been worded better though.
jammydodger 0 Posted September 5, 2006 Ok thanks guys, I got what I needed to know
frederf 0 Posted September 6, 2006 OFP mods have been able to set viewdistance for infantry and airplanes seperately. Are viewdistances seperately set for aircraft and ground units in ArmA?
themaster303 22 Posted September 6, 2006 the important question is: when you see 2000m as a soldier (max-viewdistance), will armeda also have a 2000m viewdistance up as a pilot because if you fly 2000m high you see nothing from the ground. so it would be nice if armeda reduce the poligons and you have more viewdistance in the plane. that was the only thing it really sucks in ofp as a pilot. and i like to be a pilot greetz themaster303
Ryujin 0 Posted September 6, 2006 Merry christmas! (close enough... ) A SPACE MOD?!? OMG! EDIT:DL it here too! This is as good as its gets with ofp NOTE: I am in no way involved! (just incase)
rundll.exe 12 Posted September 8, 2006 Yeah that space mod is cool. Real good scripted. (when you fly verry high, the screen gets black for while and then you're in space! But no planets or whatsoever but OT, there is no need to fly that high, im sure.
