Ares1978 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Just saw it on the news: 3 Greek associations are putting up a charge against Lordi, reason being "satanism". Err... Â Â I saw it too. How enlightened of them. Oh and the text in my signature is from our last Eurovision disaster. I think it still applies. Inspired by the old saying regarding war.
berghoff 11 Posted May 19, 2006 I only saw ppl in costumes putting up a great show (compared to others). How is this related to "satanism" anyway, a man with an axe and wings?
sanctuary 19 Posted May 19, 2006 I don't know what kind of singer or what kind of song my country is sending there, but i have a total confidence in the choice they made for France. We are applying a plan since decades in the Eurovision , and it has always proven to be working. I am sure this year, the french plan will prevail again. Quote[/b] ]France plan for Eurovision contestSituation : Winning Eurovision means hosting the event the following year, this would cost too much money for an event that is mostly ridiculous. This money could be better spent elsewhere, like buying big expensive car for french politicians so they can show the poor french citizens how much they care about them. Objective : Losing the Eurovision contest at all cost. How to achieve the objective in a legal way : -sending bad singer -sending bad song -vote totally randomly to offend the other countries so they don't vote for us -be annoying to force the other judge to avoid giving us too much points by charity Conclusion : If every musical and head departments work together, the objective will be achieved without a problem. The plan has proven to be efficient and can be followed blindly
NeMeSiS 11 Posted May 19, 2006 I don't know what Dutchland have sent this year, only thing I could think of was "wtf?" really. Â Don't even know what language it was. Treble, altough terrible would have been a better name...
Ike_Trak 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Now seriously as everyone here also noticed the quality of this contest has been getting worse each year, one thinks theres such an agenda like sanctuary wrote. This year in semi-finals I thought maybe Poland would make the finals coz it was all in all a decent song a decent show a flavorous mix of music styles its clear they gave great effort to it. But they didnt get to finals instead all riff-raff went.
PainDealer 0 Posted May 20, 2006 proud of course, we should have sent Nightwish or something similar YEARS ago. most of the entries this year (as usual) are in the category of "this is just like the previous song" with Finland and Lithuania making the most visible exceptions. I don't see it as being quite that simple. Yes, we should have sent Nightwish years ago, but we could also do a lot better than Lordi in terms of hard rock. Sure, they are different and way over the top (that's a plus in my book), but I'd rather gain success with good hard rock, if you know what I mean. The pointless shit we have exposed the world to in previous contests have always made me feel ashamed, so this is definitely a step in the right direction, but I think we could still do better. Lithuania was good, too. I didn't say I was a fan of Lordi either and I agree we could do a lot better hard rock-wise... tho real, good hard rock died in the late 80's. and last years' entries... I'm ashamed too! and I know we can still do a lot better than what we have this year.
Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted May 20, 2006 The church has a ridiculous amount of influence in Greece Hopefully they will shut up before the cameras arrive.... Whilst we're at it, the Eurovision threads have been closed since 2003 (I just checked) so I don't see a reason to change this tradition
