Digitalae Stargate Addons

Hi all

Well here is the Alpha release of the Daedalus Class or X304, please note that this version is an early test release and does contain bugs, these bugs are currently being fixed and additional detail and features are being added to the addon (this does not represent the final version).

Unfourtunately the current version was not ready for release so I have released this version untill the current version is ready for beta release. The Second version contains a different flight model and additional weapons, also Walmis has shown me his Shield, which he is working on so hopefully that can be added to the final version when it is finished.

The Daedalus or X304 Class is a Battlecruiser class ship from the Stargate series SG-1 and Atlantis, it was designed to replace the Promethues or X303 Class (this ship is huge).

Known Bugs:

Flight model tilts to the oposite side that you are turning to.

No Collison or Direct Fire unless you fire at the base of the model.

Early Textures.

No Commander.

Only 1 of the 3 Weapons.

No Docking of Jumper's or F302's + No animated Hanger Doors

No HyperDrive

No Shield

I am releasing this addon because a few people have asked me to and I also need help with this and other addons, so releasing this may gain interest in the addons and hopefully I might get some help or constructive comments that will allow me to finish the addons smile_o.gif

Well I' thinking of making the Hyperdrive in either two ways, 1 have it create a small 3d graphic tunnel in front of the ship so that it simulates the hyperspace window and have a script that accelerates the ships speed in a direct line. the second idea was to use a script that simply transport the ship to a location on the map, so it skips the graphics and just puts the ship at the new location. One other feature I am thinking of adding is to use a script to change the location of the get in option, so that you can kind of summon a beam up within a range of 1000m around the ship, Just ideas so far. I will hopefully add the option to rotate the commanders chair during flight so that you can see the aft of the bridge while in battle too.

The turning will be sorted in the next release, also sorry for not adding the sound, I will add that and hopefully release that as a small update soon along with powerfull weapons for you. My next release should be the Jumper with animated pods and improved model and maybe an Atlantis Outpost with Drone Chair.

What does everyone think of the model, wasn't sure if that is the right size, seems right compared to the Jumper.

Hi all

Sorry about the lack of news recently, my Windows installation became corupt, so I have had to re-install Windows and haven't got round to putting OFP back on yet, but it should be back on by tomorrow by the latest, just as I was starting to make the Hive ship too.

So far I plan to make the Hive ship purely static untill Armed Assault comes out simply because of it's size, but if I can get this to fly in OFP then I will revise that.

I'll post some more news soon.

Hi all

I haven't really had the chance to complete much work on any of the addons lately but don't worry I will be continuing production soon, all thought I will be working on these addons, I will most likely be creating these for Armed Assault, however I will wait untill this is released to make the final judgement on this, so they may still be released for OFP too.

Good news is my Machine is working again and as far as I know I didn't loose anything, so as soon as I get some free time I will work on some of the addons and will hopefully release a working X340 and Hatak for you all smile_o.gif

So it's not dead or anything like that and sorry for the wait smile_o.gif

Hi all

Sorry about the lack of news but still haven't had much free time, but I did start work on a new Wraith Dart, bit too early for any progress pics but it does look more accurate compared to my first one. A bit of work has been done on the Atlantis Control Station (the replicator weapon on Dakara).

Thats about it for now, but hopefully two weeks from now I should have alot more free time to work on the addons.

Hi all

Sorry I did want to release a few pics of the current work last weekend but didn't get a chance to work on the addons over the weekend much, this weekend I'm doing my first skydive so after that I should be able to release some screens of some work along with the first screen of my newest addon which isn't much yet but I can give you a hint to what it is;

think Daedalus size x 10, this will be made as a static object with weapon points, probably only for the time being and will likely orbit high in the sky.

Release wise:

The next test addons to be released will be the Hatak and X303 as a few people have requested these over the last few months.

Hi All

Sorry for the lack of news recently, I will admit I haven't really wanted to work on the addons much, but that said thanks to a small break from moddelling I'm back and with good news.

The Puddle Jumper now has working animated weapon pods and drive bays (still need to be aligned properly), so shouldn't be too long for a new release, John has also revamped the textures and I will be looking at those soon.

Now that the latest seasons are airing in the US I have been able to get some good shots of the Ori, Ancient and Wraith ships so more to come on them soon, not too mention the Assuran (replicator ships).

So there should be more upto date news from now on smile_o.gif

Good to hear the Jumper gets an update!

I love the Jumper, but the current version is way too slow, I think.

Now if you already changed that, forget what I said about that issue.

But if not, perhaps you could use the boost script of the Airwolf Mod. That would be cool because it would give the Jumper a nearly plane-like flight-behaviour.

Just a suggestion for you to think about.

Im not really sure what to do with the speed of the jumper just yet, at times the jumper in the show goes faster than a jet and at other times (as seen in the latest episode) goes much slower.

So far I am thinking about adding a script so that the Jumper goes really slow like 20mph while the drive pods are closed and when they open you can fly from between 20-1000mph, but I think for those speeds it may need a VTOL script. I also don't want the ships to go way too fast because I think that you take the gameplay away when you fly over the map in a few seconds and the other players don't have a chance to shoot you down.

I think this addon will be one of the more complex addons because so far I have seen the shows Jumper use:

Cloak

Shield

HUD Sensors

Submarine

Opening Drive pods, Weapon pods, rear door and interior door

DHD

Increase the inertial dampeners or weight (would like to add this to add mission scope)

and probably much more, oh but I won't be adding time travel not much use for that and can be done in mission planning anyway.

so these will take time to script.

So far I am having trouble getting the drive and weapon pods to open with only two commands, but I think I have figured that one out and just need to test that tonight.

Any suggestions are allways welcome smile_o.gif

Good News I sorted out the problem with the pods not opening together, so now you can open the weapon pods as one and the engine pods as one, still need to make it so the drives in the engine pods move down then side ways and set it so you cant fire while the weapon pods are closed.

Well, if you'd use the boost script, you wouldn't need any additional VTOL scripts.

At low speeds the jumper could still behave like a helicopter, and at high speed (using the boost it's around 450-500 I think) it's more like a plane.

That's not too fast either, so no worry about crossing the whole island in a few seconds.

Hi all

Small update, didn't get as much done this weekend as I had hoped, but I have started on modelling the Jumper bay of the tower and some other rooms (more on that later), the jumper has also recieved some small changes to the hull and interior.

I now have some better pictures of the jumper so there may be alot of changes to the details on the hull soon.

Good news is I'm taking some time off work so should be able to get more done over the next few days, and I will be posting up pictures and a possible release soon smile_o.gif

I have the Jaffa, the X302, the Death glider, and everything, does it work online? I wanna game of me leading one team (Jaffa or humans) and him leading the other (humans or jaffa)

I didn't create the released F302, Jaffa or death glider, so I'm not sure if they work in multiplayer, but I guess they do. I don't play OFP online so never tried them on there. The addons I am making have not been tested online yet, but I will be releasing them for people to test both on and offline. If there is a high demand for them to be multiplayer compatable, I will if possilbe add that feature, might need some help with that though cause as I said I don't play it online so I'm not sure of what would be needed.

Yeah, Im mixing and matching SG addons (But i cant get the DSF gate to work... gah) and yours look extreamly cool... lol...

Edits: Oh, and You could take a look at a few other addons to get inspiration... lol.

Hi All

Sorry about the lack of updates, I have still been working just slowly.

The Atlantis model is looking much more like Atlantis and a new picture will be up this week. So far the 3 main piers are done and 1 of the smaller piers is done too. That leaves the central pier and 2 smaller piers to go, which I have already started on. The buildings will be released at a later date, this way you can customise the city to fit what ever scenario you like (however the model will come with some towers etc). I still need to test this ingame when the model is complete, because as you know it is a huge model, split into sections.

So more news to come soon.

sadly the F302 doesnt work in mp. even my latest update doenst work:(

its linked to the same problem with the altitude meter giving wrong figures but i dnt know what the problem is.

anyway digitalae i emaield you about a joint collaboration project. hopefully to intergrate the 1.4 stargates into the jumper biggrin_o.gif let me know if you got it.
