The Art thread

Recommended Posts

I have really noob question.... why you need those profiles, where can it be used?  biggrin_o.gif

Dont have anything against you doing them, they look great  smile_o.gif

Why do you play OFP?

I'm sure that they do it because they think it's fun and it improves their skills.

Also a lot of books aimed at scale modellers use them to illustrate markings on aircraft etcetera. Another market is military organisations that sell these at airshows showing their aircraft and use them as gifts when people reach certain milestones in their carreer, I.E. Make Fighter Weapon Instructor or leave one unit for another. There is actually a lot more money to be made from these then from OFP or Flightsim addon's. This is perhaps actually the most sellable art there is. None of other art you have seen in this thread will probably ever go beyond the hobby level. It might look good but there isn't a big market for it. For this there is.

I'm sure there's a market for your illustrations as they are superb. I was more refering to this in general. Most people simply do it because it's fun.

There are markets for other areas too such as bird illustrators etc. Those are generally done by real painters but I am sure that you could do it with the computer too. I actually prefer to watch at good illustrations rather than pictures. Mainly because you get a consistent look to them.

By the way, how are your illustrations doing? Have they been featured in any books or magazines?

Your illustrations would be great on air/armor museum display placards to illustrate different variants and configurations of museum vehicles/aircraft....

I am working on a number of bookdeals and am being published by a few european organisations, though mainly on a print on demand basis.

i know. if the skull shown in predator 2 wasnt "fake" then the head should be rigid.

but first the thing in pic was something bended this way. and then it started to look like alien. so lets just say it some ET life form inspired by HR Gigger wink_o.gif

whats wrong with imagehack thumbnails? sometimes they work, sometimes they dont... crazy_o.gif

If the URL is too long the URL gets automatically resized by Ikonboard, even if it's part of a bigger code. It will totally screw up your thumbnail.

i thought it may have something to do with lenght.

nice you say? thanks. im glad you like it. ive used only photoshop. i dont know if you consider gradient as vector graphics but rest of this pic is made by brush tool. mostly caligraphic flat 7 and pencil #2 for details and hair. smudge tool was also involved in creating her hairdress.

anyone likes the song burn from deep purple?
