fer 21 Posted February 4, 2006 ... of course, whilst commandMove works in public all the time, move is a local command, because that makes sense ... not! Anyway, having fixed an error which was preventing the platoon command system from working, I have uploaded some new builds. <span style='color:red'>Get the non-addons version of 0-5-5 at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.php?page=PLA_Montignac <span style='color:red'>Get the WGL5 version of 0-5-5 at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant Apologies to anyone who downloaded 0-5-4 and wondered what the hell was going on Project UKF, Red Hammer Studios and Bundeswehr Mod conversions are on their way. BTW, I doubt anyone has time, but if anyone would like to help with conversions (in particular) and improving this mission, I'd be happy of some help. Right. Today will have to get better: bug fixed , Cocteau Twins CD arrives mysteriously in the post , and England play Wales in the rugby - Fer <TZW> PS @ where's my rabbit: Thanks - I realised that when I got kicked-off, but by the time my ISP's carrier-pigeon arrived with the code of the @zcommon addons written out in machine code (for re-typing by hand), you'd all gone to bed

Also, please can you amend the description on your mirror page to contain the 'Mission Overview' and 'Key Features' sections from the page: http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.php?page=PLA_Montignac Thanks! - Fer <TZW>
VerySolidSnake 0 Posted February 6, 2006 All added, email me next update so I can keep those links up to date!
Placebo 29 Posted February 7, 2006 Good job Fer I noticed you have the old Ofp.info links for the addons, you'll want to do a CTRL+H on the html file, find gamezone, replace with gamepark, then they'll all be fixed
fer 21 Posted February 7, 2006 @ Placebo: Thanks for the catch! Links have been updated. @ Very Solid Snake: Thanks for mirrors - will keep you in the loop as to new versions. - Fer <TZW>
bunkerslusken 1 Posted February 7, 2006 I'd love to see some versions with HYK US infantry versus the RHS MIs. And to balance the UKF version a little better, I recommend using JAM versions of the Russian soldiers. Seems like a really nice mission, I can sense the dedication you've put into it. fer 21 Posted February 7, 2006 @ Bunkerslusken: Glad you are enjoying the mission. If you would like to see an HYK version please PM or post links to the addons you want used and I will try and turn around a variant in a day or so. Converting the mission is now a straightforward task - if there is any interest I could produce a ReadMe.txt with step-by-step instructions. Assuming you know the classnames of the new units you want to use, it takes under 10 minutes to do with a good text editor. - Fer <TZW>
stegman 3 Posted February 8, 2006 If you would like to see an HYK version please PM or post links to the addons you want used...If there is any interest I could produce a ReadMe.txt with step-by-step instructions. HYK blokes look good. (could do a winter mod of this mission too! Also a readme would be great for people like me who are only just starting out with scripting... fer 21 Posted February 8, 2006 @ Bunkerslusken (and others): Thanks for the conversion requests, I have gone ahead and made a few new ones today: <span style='color:red'>Get the Project UK Forces (UKF) vs Red Hammer Studios (RHS) (now with JAM) conversion at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant <span style='color:red'>Get the Hyakushiki Modern US Troops (HYK) vs Red Hammer Studios (RHS) (now with JAM) conversion at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant NB The HYK units will need Laser's US Weapons - sorry I couldn't get the mission to load otherwise. For something a little different, FDF fans should try: <span style='color:red'>FDF WW2 conversion, available at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant The FDF WW2 conversion has had its NVGs and Squad Cameras removed / disabled, to better reflect the 1940s setting. This means COs need to be near the action, or at least close enough to see it through a pair of binoculars! @ stegman: I'll see what I can do about creating a guide on the site as soon as I get a moment. Hope you are enjoying these conversions. - Fer <TZW>

ade_mcc 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Thanks Fer for the step-by-step explaination. Whilst having a vague idea on doing this kind of thing i've never really understood how to do this in practice. Cheers for the excellent walkthrough. I've been playing the 9v9 PUKFs verion most nights this week, its really an excellent mission with plenty of replay value. I'll keep an eye out for updates or futher projects from yourself.
fer 21 Posted February 9, 2006 Really glad to know people are enjoying this mission and its variants. Hopefully the 'Making PLA Montignac' walkthrough will help others to make new variants. In terms of further development, I would like to look at a couple of areas: - A better camera system, which would allow the CO to pan/zoom independently of the unit. - A mechanised version of the mission (with, of course, provision for making mechanised variants). In terms of the mechanised version I already have some working code based on the (broken) 0-5 release, and perhaps at the weekend I shall have the opportunity to begin adapting it to work with the (stable) 0-5-5 release. If anyone has any suggestions for improved camera scripts please drop me a PM. In the meantime, hope you are having fun. - Fer <TZW>
fer 21 Posted February 14, 2006 Verion 0-6-2 has been released: <span style='color:red'>Get the non-addons version of 0-6-2 at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.php?page=PLA_Montignac <span style='color:red'>Get the WGL5 version of 0-6-2 at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant The big changes are: - Human squad leaders will be able to see the markers for squad positions (including their own), and these update. - Human squad leaders will be able to see the markers for squad objectives (including their own), and these also update. - When the CO changes the location of a squad's objective marker, any human players in the squad will automatically receive a hint informing them. These changes are in response to suggestions by testers (in particular, thanks to where's my rabbit). I hope they will make it easier for human vs human play - especially if VoIP is not available to all players on the same team. Updates to the addon variants will be along shortly. For anyone who wants to make their own variant, an updated set of instructions (and the @CONVERSION mission folder) is available at: http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....ariants Hope you find this new version improved! - Fer <TZW> PS There is a known issue which I am finding hard to fix: after a while, AI squads tend to stop responding to commands from the CO. I have a nasty feeling this is an OFP issue, so please be aware of it if you are playing as the CO. This only appears to happen on dedicated server games. fer 21 Posted February 14, 2006 Some updated variants for the Project UKF crowd: <span style='color:red'>Get the UKF version of 0-6-2 at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant <span style='color:red'>Get the UKF vs RHS (JAM) version of 0-6-2 at:</span> http://www.ferstaberinde.com/index.p....variant Both have been tweaked to work on dedicated servers (thanks to where's my rabbit ? for the bug reports). I've decided to retire the non-JAM UKFvsRHS variant since it is unbalanced. More updated variants to follow in coming days ... - Fer <TZW>
