Just try sticking unRAR'ing the whole thing into a seperate mod folder and see if it works then.

If it works, then there's some kinda conflict going on or something. I still haven't seen Calm Terror online today, but if I'm going out to do some Christmas shopping right now. But if I see him online later I'll ask him about it and see if he has any other ideas.

Ok, i`ll try it with another mod folder.

Edit:

I give up. I have everything organized in mod folders. When i run OFP and the lost brothers mod, nothing else, the lobo islands are not shown in the mission editor. There is something wrong with my OFP, but i have no clue what the hell it is. banghead.gif

Maybe i should kill my OFP installation and leave it away of my harddisk, but i can`t do it, because Armed Assault is not available.

I see that some ppl don't know the proper designations of gulf conflicts. The first gulf war was actually the Iran-Iraq war, not the 'desert storm'. smile_o.gif

Except that its usually not called the Gulf War, at least not in America.  Usually that conflict is simply called the Iran/Iraq War.  Maybe in Iran and in Iraq they call it something else or maybe before Desert Storm some historians called it that.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties Mr. Tea.  I hope you're able to figure out whats going on and get it sorted it out.

It never hurts doing a fresh re-install of OFP and sorting everything out into nice neat mod folders.  I had to do that in the past when I screwed up something in one of my critical OFP directories.  Anyhoo... I hope you're able to work it out.

By the way, if anyone makes any kick ass Iran/Iraq/US missions be sure to post them up somewhere and advertise them on the mission section of this forum!

Basrah is an excellent place to use all those great British military addons.  Anyone know what other countries were stationed in Basrah or the immediate areas besides the US?  Poland?  Spain? Ukraine?

As far as i know the Polish are in Baghdad with the US forces and Spain arent in Iraq anymore since that bombing in Madrid

The UK provides the leadership of the Multi-National Division (South-East) which has UK, Italian, Romanian, Danish, Dutch, Czech and Lithuanian troops under its command

Pathy, there are only a few spots that aren't blended and according to Calm Terror (our map maker) there is no magic blend button as far as he knows.  If you care to illuminate us to what that button is that would be great.

By the way, great pics RTR_Commander!

Its called - "Create Transitions" - its in the manual... this really is a case of RTFM  rofl.gif

I get this error when loading Flashpoint with these addons installed:

Any ideas?

Its not your fault is a bad line in the config file.

Acouple of bugs with bridges.

The bridge doesn't quite touch the road at position 041015, making it inaccessable.

The bridges at position 010083 are way too high.

Other that than its a great map. Can't find the Secret Iranian nuclear facilities though  tounge2.gif

smile_o.gif Now, beware Iran. Mr_Tea is coming @ you. wink_o.gif

After an new installation of OFP, the LOBO Iraq/Iran map is working. This is the map that i was waiting for, without knowing that this island will be made by someone for OFP. So a big thank you goes to the Lost Brothers mod team, for another great island. yay.gif

What a great island this is. It makes up for some pretty nice big battles and some nice SAS trips into Iran.

Great map guys, thanks for the hard work you've put in it!

There is such a button as RKSL confirmed, and as RKSL said, it's just a case of RTFM. Sorry, i cant give you step by step instructions to get to that function, i'm a texturer, not a map maker, i only spent a few hours playing around in wrptool and i cant remember everything, it was at least a year ago i had a play with it....

As for only being a few spots of unblended textures.... despite doing a 30 minute fly around when i first downloaded the map, I loaded up the map again, put myself in a lynx, and did a little tour for all of 8 minutes, to see if i could find any transitions...

Searching....

trans19lo.th.jpg

Still see none....

trans26vy.th.jpg

Nope, none here....

trans37uj.th.jpg

trans42ff.th.jpg

Still searching though....

trans51xm.th.jpg

Wait wait! Is this a transition? I think it is! *looks closer* Oh no wait...it isn't....

trans66ev.th.jpg

Sorry, maybe there are a few transitions on the map, but from what i can see, the majority isnt done. confused_o.gif

Not meaning to be negative about the map, but it's something that should be fixed...

Thanks Pathy... yeah Calm Terror found the option you were talking about on WRPedit. You still need the actual blended textures however, but still hopefully it will prove to be a useful. Thanks.

Mr. Tea, glad you got everything working. Hope you enjoy the map.

Yes, i`m enjoying it right now. SAS on s+d mission for the nuclear reactor bunkers, supported by COC Tomahawk Sub`s.

Btw. I´ve found two nuclear reactors by now.

As far as i can see, the textures he used are all "incompatible" with each other, i.e. thye dont match up anyway, and the create transistions button only works on compatible textures (whereas with Visitor i think it creates its own?)

hm... strange...

the included mission (73 easting) is VERY laggy!

so i decided to decompres it with pbo_descryptor1.5 and lauch through mission editor...

well, a huge bunch of vehicles, units...

i calculated that ~70 units are on west side...

i decreased OFP settings as i could:

from 1024x800x16(refresh rate 75) changed to 640x480x16(refresh rate 150)

visual distance from 1600 to 900

and still i get 1-4 fps, what should i do?

sad_o.gif

P.S. i also was on hunt for beutiful addons to change these BIS vehicles/units, SIG's M1/M1A1, HYK's Desert Troops 1991, CBT Crew and APCs (M2A1 and M113A3)...

that mission looks awesome, but that fps kills me...

Found another bug when you blow up one of the buildings a pop up box saying missing ags_industrial_pack comes up.

Very annoying when ur flying at low alt engaging enemy and suddenly an error box pops up.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Gedis, your best bet is to just cut in half the number of units on both sides. That should make the mission playable on your system.

The lag problem is curious because the 73 Easting map has a very low number of objects overall and what objects are there are low poly. But...maybe its just because I used so many units.

Oosh: Thats the first I've heard of that error. I've never experienced that one myself I'm assuming you installed all of the .pbo's from the pack (aside from the mission) into the same addon folder right? If so it should work fine unless you have an older version of ags industrial pack in that folder... or perhaps a newer version that you didn't overright and that perhaps is not fully compatible with maps that use the older version. Thats one possibility anyways.

hm... maybe i know the problem of low fps in that mission...

i created my own 73 easting mission, around 3 times smaller, but fps droped to 5-7 when us forces are advancing to the Iraq possitions behind fortifications(sand walls, sandbags...)

after that i placed my self in those fortifications, it was 10-19fps...

maybe those sandwalls, sandbags cause lag when they have to show up on the sight...

or maybe it's because huge quantity of them...

Great stuff guys, always fun with non-mainstream addons! pistols.gif

The EE-9 Cascavel is nice, but it feels like it's still work in progress?

1. The commander has no zoom view

2. Unable to switch between internal positions when vehicle has stopped

3. Unable to turn out/in (and in internal view hatches are closed, but in external view hatches are open?)

4. The gunner sight is not properly made, making it very hard to use

I also found a problem with kikill's F4 but I'll adress that in his thread.

Well the problem is that car class addons are not really supposed to have commanders. We only added a commander because without him, the gunner did not detect and engage targets very well. I'm not sure if the commander's viewports can be fixed either, but it will be looked into. But basically, unless we turned the EE-9 into a tank class addon, the commander position is not recommended for players. But if its possible we will try to see if we can make the commander's position more usable. If anyone else wants to work on it to improve it, also please feel free to do so. Just please do not release it without me first checking it out to make sure no new bugs were introduced or other things messed with that we didn't want messed with (like turning it into a tank class). I absolutely hate armored car addons that are a tank class due to how they move completely unrealistically and how they behave while driving them. The lovely thing about this EE-9 is that it really hauls ass on roads and moves at a good pace off-road as well. At long range this makes it a lot more difficult for enemy tanks to hit you if you are moving at a 90 degree angle to them. Likewise if you see an ATGM launch from far away it gives you time to move rapidly behind a building. You also have a higher survival rate from RPG fire due to its speed. So overall its a nifty vehicle but best controlled from the driver position. If you want to command, the best way is probably to use an empty vehicle and three Iranian soldiers with you as the leader. Then just put yourself as the driver and the other two in the other positions. You can make a convoy of EE-9's in this manner.
