FFUR - Huge Release !!

to install the sky pack extract all the folders into your ofp drive so its something like

program files/codemasters/operation flashpoint/folder name of sky pack

In the "folder name of skypack" it should contain the installer.exe, newdata folder and i think thats it run the installer should add a new folder called tmp and dta then once installed add

-mod=@skypackName

To the end of your ofp shortcut change the folder name to what it actually is then run ofp and should be done fine.

Theres also a readme quite a few pages back but not sure which exactly

why do special foces have the option to "Lower NVG" and "Put on NVG Goggles"? Isnt one just pointless they both do the same thing will one be removed?

At first thanks ffur and all other for this great mode. I dont know maybe somebody wrote about this but if not my experience. In game Resistance mission Revenge / destroying helicopters / thera are not antiaircraft missile. But maybe is my instalations wrong isnt it?

Ok, i will say this once more, because i said it before. confused_o.gif

It seems that noone is iritated by the fact that you can't see where your bullet hits the ground 'couse it makes so little smoke and dust that it is practically invisibile. As seen here in video of M60 in action bullet makes lots of smoke and dust. When it hits ground. Or anything else. So you can adjust your fire. Couse you se what you hit. This is the major feature you have to change/improve now that you have done all this.

And your camo-outfit discussion looks like dressing up Barbie dolls biggrin_o.gif

Hey Thunderbird, I was wondering if you could switch the american sniper rifle to the M-21 or M-25, Cause You can't put up to well with having just 5 shots and having a Bolt action rifle wink_o.gif

Hi all. I am intrested in the new death anims that is in this ffur2006, can i implement those new death anims into my old ofp ? How can i do that ? Not just replace the old ones, but to have more (the old ones and new ones)

I supose that i have to put in anim.pbo the new anims and to write something in some config...

am i in the right way ?

The death anims give CTD's and we have been told they will be taken out of the patch shame cause they were pretty cool.

its a CTD = Crash To Desktop

Means ofp just crashed and freezes basically.

If you still really want the anims you can if the file names are all correct unpbo the FFUR anims file take the death anims and put them in your anim.pbo make a backup incase this doesnt work as this is just a guess

Hi there! welcome.gif ( I know - I always say that ... wink_o.gif ) Allright - straight to the point.

Looks like I have downloaded all o f the '85 packs, "European conflict" and finally "FFUR 2006". I hope it's the correct thread and Mr. Moderator will not shut it down if I ask if theres anything wrong with the silenced AKMS utilized by SpetsNaz in the "85 Winter conversion - 't's so damn innacurate that it drives me mad! crazy_o.gif It reminds me the old frustrating problem with the SebNam pack: VC used default BIS AKs and they always could kill you with a single shot on the spot while you were furiously emptying all your cartriges just in vain. But ina close quarters firefight those AKMSs seem to work just fine - and I know that silenced rifles ARE inacurate when it comes to a long range shooting in real life. Therefore I am asking - just to root out doubts.

There's something more - the parachute deployment does not work at all and spoils every mission if a unit has to perform a jump. There's a message from the interface that there's something missiong or cannot be opened due to a more or less mysterious software failure. Is anyone familiar with the proble? ... Does reinstalling sort it out? ... Thanks & cheers, people. help.gif

Would you be so kind to tell who is the author of the kinda electronic composition with chorus (and name it, pls), that you have used in FFUR2006? I like it very much.

UPD Sounds similar to the Harry Gregson-William's "The Battle" for the Chronicles of Narnia, but I think I'm wrong...

okay well after about 10 mins of work using ofp anim and searching through all the ofp anims ive managed to replace all the most realistic death anims into ofp yay.gif

I didnt use the death anims when the soldiers are lying on the ground gets shot stands up and falls backwards as i thought that wouldnt happen.

Overall i repalced 10 of the ofp anims but i relised i couldnt of repalced them all without config work as FFUR seems to have more then ofp does so they must be chosen randomly. This i thought could be the CTD problem i havent tested my different version much yet shot a few units on desert island and that works find.

Ill let you know how it goes also TB if the tests go well will you consider doing what i did by renaming the death anims and replacing them if this way does not bring up any unwanted CTD's cause the different anims give ofp a much nicer fell i think.

The BDU is looking spectacular, but I'm kinda iffy on having the backpacks on every single unit. Accurately shouldn't they only be on the medics and some other units?

I respect the work of FFUR team but this bugs me more than the BDU vs ACU.

okay after quite a lot of testing im pretty certain the death anims overwriting the old .rtm files int he anim.pbo has not caused any erros. The only bug is that some of the anims play a bit fast but this is config work so it shouldnt be too hard to fix.

Hope you go with this way as i have not had any problems and it looks much better then the original ones. If you want i could PM you the renamed death anims which will replace the current ones if you want.

Cant wait for the patch but do take your time dont rush it im pretty sure most people wont mind waiting the extra few weeks if it means it will have no or very few bugs in.

There's 1 reason behind all CTDs that occurred in game, and We are definitely sure about that.

Because they already have 'Attached' NVG that can be used even if they don't carry BIS 'classical' NVG, But we expect to take one of the two out of the helmet.

FFUR 2006 AI can engage every plane/chopper flying low with machine guns or with rocket launchers, there's no necessary need of using SAM weapons anymore.

This is not really required as long as one can increase the quantity of M24 ammunition.

I suggest you to avoid including these 'Death anims' because of the CTDs they cause in game, plus, it's quite long to remove'em due to the fact they replace much of default cfgmoves values.

These packs are outdated, and we already know about all of their bugs because they have been reported more than once awhile ago, anyways; Desert and Winter packs would certainly be updated to 2006.

Get a look at the previous pages (30/40 pages), a list of all songs that have been included to the FFUR 2006 was published a while ago.

During missions, all units will probably need 'Backpacks' to carry 'several supplies'. Medics also have an additional pack that contains first-aid things like hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol...etc

the only problem with some of the death anims is that some are just way too unrealistic even if i havent been shot i really doubt that when lying down and getting shot you will stand up then fall backwards and its a death anim sot ehre already dead.

But apart from some like them there great add some great variety to the game. Also TB with the ones i sent no more can be added unless you do some config work which is what most likely caused the CTD anyway. You can only have 2 death anims in some case the movement then teh stationary dead body anim. So the variation is quite as big but it still has better anims then the OFP ones.
