VME Release !

Hi all !

From the =Virtual Military Engineers= guys :

Quote[/b] ]The Vme Mod Objective's to show you a bit our army in Operation Flashpoint,

until now the PLA is still very secret , we have done our best to collect informations about the chinese army and to make our addons at authentic as possible,

this pack countains all VME necessary stuff, we have included in it some missions too, several changes have been done , we really hope you will enjoy it !

Here's the VME Full pack [195] MB,wich regroups all VME stuff, a lot of enhancements have been carried out :

-New Custom GUI

-New Cutscene

-FFUR effects incorporated

-Reworked models

-Improved Scripts

-Lag reduced

but the main improvements are still of course AI (CQB) scripts :

-now chinese AI (CQB) squads are able to deploy mortars and heavy machine guns when they are under heavy fire.

-AI (CQB) have the abilities of rolling and leaning.

-AI (CQB) do throw smoks to cover the squad once under heavy fire.

-AI artillery system and air support scripts improved.

-ECP blood effect incorporated

->Tony Ranger (Vme script maker) has introduced some missions in the Extra pack.

Yeah it has its config but you can use this with any other mod (Y2K3,FFUR,EECP) without any problem by only moving VME/addons folder to the wanted addons folder wink_o.gif

One question, does it still have the obscure naming convertion (I.e XK342 = pistol, XK343 = 600kton nuclear weapon) icon_rolleyes.gif

Thats about my only problem with the mod, which is only a problem when trying to make a mission while hosting.. "I'll put an mounted MG here and here", and they turn out to be anti-aircraft guns..Addmitedly it makes the misisons more intersting, hm, maybe it's a feature tounge2.gif

Hmm, will the AI improvements be included in your FFUR mod?

Yep and no... yep because the AI will be changed by cpp only making it more aggressive and more intelligent , and no because there won't be any script intended to this fact .

However VME vehicles's names are a bit weird in english because they have been translated from chinese to english , heh smile_o.gif

Aha, that list is usefull, no more putting a mortar inplace of a MG biggrin_o.gif

If you (or anyone else) gets some free time, a refernce guide thing (with the display name, and a picture of it) would be great, but it's not important smile_o.gif

did you fix the gun sounds (in the older versions the rifle sounds where the same as the cannon sound thus making it a little bit of hard to figure out who was shooting )

No, I haven't seen one.

One suggestion: Put the Chinese units on the resistance side because the Chinese and Russians are/were not the best friends either, would love to make some big Russian vs. China tank battle's. And on the resistance side you can make them fight against everyone you want. I believe the last release still had them on resistance side or am I mistaken huh.gif

I was hoping they use replacement units for the BIS gear like FFUR sad_o.gif also they need an island..u can only wage war on the BIS islands for so long....

There have been numerous of clashes like this up to the 90's I believe so it would be nice to be able to play against the Russians with these units smile_o.gif

The VME mod isn't a total conversion mod but a mod like BOH or UKF which have as main objective to show to foreign people their military gear wink_o.gif

yes, well, thankfully china isnt devoted totally to russia in real life. in the color war we played them off of one another, be a little bit more friendly to one, makes the other hate them, be a bit more friendly to another, makes them fear the other more...works like a charm

huh.gif The artillery didn`t work. When I play as platoon comander and try to call artillery or any other support, than I get an "no target". AI isn`t capable to call support too. Btw. I`m using this addons with the ECP Mod.
