SHWiiNG 0 Posted August 7, 2005 hey .. reading another thread i came accross something called VME AI i mean ECP AI is fantastic but this VME sounds toastie! i hope its just a smallish file and not a hole conversion ... oh and can i use it in conjunction with ECP? Daniel 0 Posted August 7, 2005 Actually, I'm surprised so few people seem to have heard of VME. VME (Virtual Military Engineers) formally PLA, are a group of Chinese addon makers who have made high quality addons of the Chinese Army, but also made their own animations for specific units, and AI for the PLA (People's Liberation Army), West, Resistance and East units, armour, air, artillery etc. So yes, you can use it with mods such as ECP as it is a standalone addon pack. However, it is the size of a small mod. Also, the AI only applies to units adapted by VME, using the original BIS models. Although I use Y2K3, so this isn't a problem. Download the latest leaning anims (think its DMA), or maybe the leaning is already incorporated into the addons. But, like I said, these guys are amazing! Don't forget that they take up allot of CPU power for that skill . I do hope ECP will consider incorporating that "uber AI" from vME for their next release, do it just like VME did: create additional "cqb" units, so they can be used sparse Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Daniel 0 Posted August 7, 2005 Haha, just found that out. Added a group of Spetz Natz with a BMP. Everything went fine, the Spetz chucked some flash bangs, we cleaned them up easy enough. Then a BMP rolled round the corner and took out our LAW soldier. Almost instantly 3 cries requesting Artillery support went up on the side channel, though I had none placed in the editor. I restarted with some arty but then it started to lag quite a bit. Anyway, it's probably better to use the CQB guys in small numbers like you say. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

On the other hand, if ECP added this AI as well as Gandalf said, then units would have the ECP effects as well as the AI. Currently, if you use the units with ECP, they will have the good AI, but will not shout "Grenade!", or throw bouncing grenades, etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
