Marcus4 0 Posted February 1, 2006 maybe u could make some complex scripts that attacht the wagon to the horse, and they are 2 differnt modle's, like the AEF train
JdB 151 Posted February 1, 2006 Unfortunatly since OFP.info is down, all of the images I have posted in this topic are no longer working. Also I can't post any new shots in this thread....so it's pretty much a case of no(t much) visual updates from me and waiting until the mod is finished (which might pose a problem in it's own right). The House Divided compass (for the ingame usable thing). I'm also working on a watch. Might get a couple of tweaks to the textures.
gavinthecat 0 Posted February 1, 2006 Thanx Biv, and yep they will get pulled by horses? did i already say that actually er? Ah well, and that compass is looking good too Lt HuNTeR

JdB 151 Posted February 2, 2006 nice new compas gavin forgot to comment on the wagon, looks very detailed and good textures I did the research. I did the model. I did the mapping. I did the textures. Gavin will get it working ingame. Yeah sure, love the textures, and ignore the modeller like usual Edit: Nice house William
William115 0 Posted February 2, 2006 lol Lt HuNTeR ^^ The house will be ready soon, just need the definition lods .
gavinthecat 0 Posted February 2, 2006 lol I know i know Lt HuNTeR, this is the thing that happens tho, in anycase chaps good ol' Lt HuNTeR has done some great work on the compass, but he is also doing a watch that will look good too. As for Williams keep up the good work, he is making buildings with internals, this is not as easy as it sounds (and im sure it doesnt sound easy! So keep up that good work Williams, I will include that building of yours in the Bull Run map i think. Oh and furthermore welcome to the thread Loony! JdB 151 Posted February 2, 2006 To clarify, as this mod is getting more and more into "The Gavin Mod", this mod is made by more people then just Gavin (although he did a great deal of the soldiers, animating etc) including: Lt HuNTeR - (2D, 3D, administrator (paperwork), assistant leader) Zalmoxis - (2D, 3D) Daddylonglegs - (2D) William - (3D) Harley - (historian) And several CW mod contributors. Alot of these members have done a great deal to get Release 1 as far as it is now, so now you know the names that you can forget next time when you yell ''Great work Gavin'' when you see people other then Gavin posting screenshots of their own work
gavinthecat 0 Posted February 2, 2006 Ya lads, its appreciated when you provide compliments to our work, but its important that you share that support to more than just me, because it does aggravate the other guys and its my fault entirely (obviousy) because i should be a little more clear on the varied nature of the contributions to our work effort. Lt HuNTeR does get a wee bit ignored on the thread, and its a shame because his work is just as vital but because it does not constitute a nice first lod screenshot, its simply harder to tell what he's contributed. But for the record chaps, this release would be at least two months from now, if it had not been for his tireless work on making over a 100 custom models to be used as lods, not crap lods, but high quality lods to the standard of I44 (his previous mod.) So I invite you to give your support to him and the rest of the team kudus to Lt HuNTeR and the rest of the team
POPKA 0 Posted February 3, 2006 Sorry Lt. Hunter, i did not mean to offend you well anyway, it is a very good model as i said before well done lt hunter
Connors 0 Posted February 3, 2006 nice work all of you.
gavinthecat 0 Posted February 3, 2006 Yeah looking smart cowboy loving it these are nice and clear, and will look attractive but be very functionable and easy to read, which is the most important function they will serve for the player i think in the mod. Great work Lt HuNTeR
bigus_dikus 0 Posted February 3, 2006 The watch and Compass look good indeed, but the wagon really impressed me! great Model and texture job there. I'm interested to see how the bridge that Lt Hunter made works out in game. I remember I had a hell of a time making my bridges work with just a single section and thus made 2 ...or 1 in the case of the pontoons (but had to use several to span a river.) The mod looks like Its doing well ,congrats to all contributors and looking foward to the release. bigus
gavinthecat 0 Posted February 3, 2006 Well bigus thanx for your kind allowance for us to work on your map of Bull Run also, I think you will be very pleased with the results of the additional objects and custom artwork added. From new tree edits to new buildings etc. But because of your kind contribution you have saved much time on map development, that would have delayed our release for a month from when it does go out, and of course our first campaign is now set on your map Eventually I'd love to do more edits on your other maps, that is adding and creating custom artwork for objects etc. In any case you share directly in the credit for your kind generosity. longstreetcsa 1 Posted February 6, 2006 Hey fellow soldiers! I found the following webpage where GREAT civil war battlefield maps can be found - check 'em out they are very cool because most of 'em where drawn during the war and used during campaigns and the battles... http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/civil_war_maps/ I'm currently readying General Longstreets Memoires "From Manassas to Appomattox" (very interesting indeed) and use those maps to check out the troop movements during the battles. Well I thought those maps might interest you - either in map making or just for checking things out Solong, Longstreet P.S.: Your work is comming along really nice! It becomes harder and harder to wait for the release.....
JdB 151 Posted February 6, 2006 Well, we aren't going to make any battle itself, but it's usefull for mapmaking. I do doubt that most of the maps of that era are 100% accurate though Thanks
gavinthecat 0 Posted February 6, 2006 Hey Longstreet welcome to the thread, I'll get a chance to check out that site later today, but thanx for contributing. The campaign after second bull run, i think will focus around a kind of fictional affair, where as part of a company of riflemen you are assisting in covering the union retreat against voracious attempts by the rebs to pursue. gavinthecat 0 Posted February 9, 2006 Okay lads sorry for the lack of updates, just some damn uni stuff blocking us out for a week, but rest assured we ain't got much left for this beta. Soon as we get a log of time we'll juuuust finish it off for team testing, (yes you can all join but that process has not started yet.)
