did you release a version of this before? It was in mission editor format and had no intro and stuff? If so that looked good so i'll dl this and give you some feedback.

I am really getting into these dynamic missions.

I had an idea for a Wasteland based one involving desert rangers in a post apocolyptic environment, doing good deeds like slaying cyberpunks and biker scum! smile_o.gif

Looking forward to testing this.

Thanks biggrin_o.gif

And yes stuphor i did release a version of this before, then i sort of went back out of OFP for a while. But now im back and i thought id finish off 2 of my missions and rerelease them! (this one and gureallu tatics). This one is much more improved compared to last one i released. It has a breifing and now you can loose and win the mission. Also most the research options are in there now.

All i need now is your guys suggestions and bug reports and i can release a final. Still havnt got a intro or outro though, ive never really do intros and stuff in my missions i never got the hang of camrea scripting.

Just had quick play with this mission.

Nice work my man, nice work.

I like the research and buying options, and moving around in a blackhawk is cool.

The Zombies seem a bit stupid, however, do they get smarter as the game progresses? Willthey get stronger and attack in more violent ways?

Also how do you save? Other than with the save option of course. You could include a radio option or save between deployments or have a rest option likein Dynamic Afghanistan.

Also a seperate armory and shop would be good. You could then purchase in one placeandhave stuff stored in another.

Dothe research options include new vehicles? That would be cool, to get tanks and bikes and stuff.

It might also be good if you increased the area of operations to include more locations, just to give a bit more variety.

Other ideas of mine are purely cosmetic.I like your choice ofunit for the Z-com troops but you could maybe use something a bit more futuristic, eg USCM troops or some sort of SWAT type units. There was a really cool looking se tof Russians released recently, or NBC troops.

I'm very impressed with your mission and will now sign off so that I can go and play it some more.

Hope my suggestions help.

Keep it up.

Hey man thanks for the feedback.

First off, the zombies do not get smarter - thats somthing to do with zombie mod, and out my control really.

Also at the moment the zombies attacks do not get more intense but i have got that planed for later versions. But as i have been play testing it i notice that the ammount of zombies that spawn now do get quiet hard later on when you start gettin straped for cash and low on ammo.

on your second suggestion - yes im planning to add a save smile_o.gif also i am planning to add a 'speed up,slow down/pause time' option. That would speed time up so the hours pass faster - for the long waits when your waiting for research and got no requiping to do of your squad, and little zombie activite. And a pause time that would stop research and zombie attacks happening. But whiles pause you cannot buy equipment and enter vehicles - this will be used for only to requip your squad.

Quote[/b] ]Also a seperate armory and shop would be good. You could then purchase in one placeandhave stuff stored in another.

Im not sure i get what your asking for here, as when you buy stuff, it appears and is stored in the ammo box infront of you? sorry if i misunderstood

And the last few suggestions:

*I was trying to avoid vehicles, as they be too over powerd. Imagine onetank could take on countless zombies intill it runs out of ammo, especially with infantry back up.

*I was planning to add a wider area of operations, as the mission stands though it gets a bit hetic with just 3 towns to defend. But i can always exspand the ammount of random time between attacks. To give you a chance to prepare. but then i run the risk of long boring waits. Inless i get the speed up time feature in mentioned above.

*Yea i was going to replace the Z-com units with farmland NPC soldiers. But i decided against useing non essential addons for this beta, so i can get a wider range of people playing and bug finding. In the final release ill add a few easy to get/popular cosmetic addons, maybe.

Cheers biggrin_o.gif

Murph

Edit-

Also just thought of another feature i might add. The ability to take up special missions (save V.I.B,protect convoy, evactuate town, liberate town, retrieve artifact,etc..) also a randomised 'special events' such as, increased zombie activites (more agressive attacks),unusal weather conditions (heavy fog), and some others i have yet to think of (suggestions?).

Whiles taking up a special mission all attacks on towns and research will hault. Failier will result in a budget cut for the following day only/or a fine. And suceeding a mission will result in a one day only bonus in funding, or special equipment rewarded/more soldiers/current research completeed.

Murph,

I like the idea of special missions. If I think of any ideas I'll let you know.

I think you may be right about the tanks, maybe Jeeps with MGs would be a better idea or some armed hummers, then you could send a few guys out on a patrol into areas of recent zombie activity(or cemetaries, graveyards, around churches) to uncover evidence which in turn creates new research options. Could be a special mission scenario I guess.

Or maybe they could escort UN scientists/ inspectors to and from places as they uncover what isgoing on?

Just a couple of random ideas for you.

Woah! Sounds like a great mission! I'll check it out...

Hmm.... no readme with the mission. Tsk tsk.

And links to required addons would be appropriate, methinks. wink_o.gif

Hey guys! new version avalible

http://rapidshare.de/files....ip.html

This one has a Pause time feature that can only be used in the base - Its actully not strictly a pause. But it stops the time cycle, research, and town attacks. Once its activated it locks all vehicles in your base and if you try to leave the base on foot it will teleport you back into the base. This features handy for when you need to rearm your men with out having to rush incase of a town being attacked.

Ive also added a save option and AutoSaves every time a town is attacked. The mission, i feel plays much better now with these features so i decided to release it.

Also added a readme genral wink_o.gif

edit: hmm i can never get thoughs URL link things to work whiles using a rapidshare link.

Another idea for the Zombie is that you have to escort civillians off the island in like a rear guard mode- just a thought. The mission is a brillian idea by the way are you making naymore like that?

Ive sort of put mission making on hold at the moment because i got a lot of real life issues, GCSE results soon and then im off to collage to do an Art and desighn course yay.gif (damn still have to draw thoughs 10 pictures to get in crazy_o.gif )

I got another zombie mission in the making which is nearing beta which is sort of a updated skye virus (althou its set on MapFact Nogova) with multiple ways of escaping and very open ended.

X-com Apoc was my favorite.

This looks like some fun. You should make an actual X-com style mission for OFP that works in MP.

I actully did a while back called battlefield earth. One player was the commander and the rest where soldiers and the commander had the option to buy weapons and vehicles and the weapons would come to the base via a truck and some workers would unload them into the armoury. And also one city would get attacked by aliens (Zebrak addon i belive) and you had to protect the town. If all the civilians in the town died mission would fail or somthing. One of my very old missions i cant remember it much now.

Sort of stoped work on it for the lack of any Sci-fi alien type addons for OFP. Couldnt find any decent UFO addons or more alien ones huh.gif

Kickass mission! It would be cool if you could use Bambis' chemical warfare blackops as the player units. That would look really nice, IMO smile_o.gif

In my opinion you should start with some simple units, like swat or even the ordinary police!

The better equiped and resistant units should show a bit later.

I dream about some kind of `zombies invasion` mission, where you`re a civilian, and the whole island is full of zombies, the only objective is to escape, and stay alive.

Simple weapons, handguns, shotguns. You just wake up one day and 80% of the inhabitants are zombies.

It could be merged with one of those real-life missions.

edit: great job ofcourse wink_o.gif

Yes i am wink_o.gif 5 player survival mission. the players are randomly dumped out side sevral starting positions in quiet areas of the map then have to find food (to eat of course! and trade with the gun shop owner) and find a way to escape. Theres going to be sevral almost randomised 'escape missions' which the players have to find them self.

For example if one of the players is searching the ruins of an old trucking depot he may find a map and documents containing the last known locations of 3 radio parts being transported to the airport to fix a broken radio transmitter. the player then must find these trucks get the radio parts, get to the air port, fix the radio, and call for help! Well thats one of the missions ive completed so far and im almost done with the gun shop owners mission you can take up and also got sevral planed.

Plus there scary music riped from silent hill! what more could you want!
