CiA co-op night

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the games. I just was bit unlucky. In the first mission helicopter was too low which causes little problems... (see first picture). THen in the second mission I was killed in 10 minutes when I, Sputnik and King Nothing were scouting what's ahead. Then I waited for an hour and then I got killed in 5 minutes biggrin_o.gif . Anyway here is a couple of pics:

I have to add some things before I will put it on FDF mission repository. It´s better to do some extensive beta before publishing it. Thx for the feedback ! thumbs-up.gif

The Suursaari Massacre

massacre3wc.jpg

Group photo of the "Suursaari Six", shortly before their mindless act of aggression.

A piece of Finnish history overshadowed for the most part by the Winter War, which occurred the following year. No one knows what events directly lead to the Suursaari massacre.

All that is known for sure is that on a sunny afternoon one day in 1938 six men (likely hopped up on snus) gathered up their shot guns and revolvers and walked to town looking for a fight. Unfortunately for them (and the town) the entire male population of the island also showed up. What followed was a fifteen-minute gun battle that left the six instigators and roughly half the islands male population dead.

One of the six instigators shortly before the Suursaari massacre of 1938. The enigmatic phrase "king nothing" followed by the year is scrawled directly on this photo. In English none the less.

Great to play again, even if it was only for an hours or so.

Hope to be there again Weds, but the good news is this Monday is a public holiday for me, so I should be there for all of Sunday's game...

Was a bad evening for me...

First my Keyboard stops working and i had to disconnect.

Changed keyboard and joined in for the next game.

But joy oh joy, my connection dies just as we get close to completing a mission banghead.gif

Will try to be there again Wednesday if i find the time.

Dieing as a team is alot more fun then dieing alone on publics biggrin_o.gif

People got too social with the Pstohj83 (iTOW) launcher with nasty results after T-80 responded to a failed missile attack.

Good games guys.

On a side note though I thought I'd follow up a conversation we all had during a briefing screen. Some how we ended up talking about backwards masking (why I do not know). Any way none of you believed me that the Song "empty spaces" on Pink Floyd's The Wall actually contains an actual tongue and cheek backwards message. Well here's a link to where you can hear it,

http://jeffmilner.com/backmasking.htm

The recorded speech is in the left channel, though you can hear it easy enough any way.

On the site there's a few other examples of songs that are oft quoted to contain backwards messages. Of course on all these other songs it's just gibberish (there is no backwards masking). The two exceptions are Fire on High by Electric Light Orchestra and Nature trail to Hell by Wierd Al, those two have rather amusing backwards masked jokes.

 Any way, enjoy  smile_o.gif
