BAS Tonal looks nice, but I haven't played on it.

Didn't find any topics like this when searching, but you mods may think that this topic is not needed, beacause we have the "Best addon thread", but it could be easier to find nice islands if there were a topic about islands only.

Sarugao

An old island, but i can't count how many firefight i made on it due to the really good way it is built and the lag free of it.

Updated CAT Afghanistan Island

It was a great island for every kind of desert conflict, the update made it lag free, while adding more to it, and so a total keeper.

Certainly some other later if none had listed them before.

Mapfact Nogova - the better Nogova than the original one

Nogova 2004 - dunno why another Nogova - but maybe it's because it's the only one i've seen yet, using my concrete barriers

Jellalhabat by UMF - The interesting parts on this island for me

were always the two big towns (one in desert style and one

in normal urban style), as i managed alot of cool firefights

over there - without big lag invasion.

AEC Island - for getting Everon, Malden and Kolgujev onto

one map.

Other's like Tonahl or Afghanistan were already mentioned above.

My favourite island is FDF Maldevic from FDF mod. If you want check this island you must download complete FDF mod (487MB). For download just check this site FDF site.

There're thread's like that over here every half a year... but oh well...

In the good old times I liked the original islands a lot. But now I got fed up of them. I rarely download the new islands that are using CWC/Res objects.  

What I am currently after, are the islands that have totally new atmosphere. The only currently available are Tonal and Afghanistan (guess by who & CAT_SHIT_ONE). McNools Pacific islands are very cool, too.

Also MIA Iraz (really nice Iraqi-style island, unfinished and unreleased, though) and RFTest by Stacker (unreleased too, this one has genuine Eastern European feel and uses all-new objects).

The islands I'm looking forward to the most are CSLA's Lacerta, Bushfires mod island and Isla Nubular (or was it Isla Sorna?) by Lost World Mod.

Other nice released islands: Sarugao, Trinity, Hiiu, Maldevic and Winter Maldevic - all can be found at ofp.info.

PS. To tease you somewhat... In the future, I'm going to try to make 2 all-new environments, one being "paradise islands" archipelago located somewhere on the South Pacific and the other one - really large city (already did performance experiments with 16 square km) on the scale unseen before in OFP.

The islands I use the most are Sarugao (the updated version by Buggs), Mapfact's rendition of Nogova, CAT/AGS Afghanistan and the desert regions of BAS Tonal (the jungle hammers my framerate too much).

The islands made by the Bloody Days Mod (St. David, Lorient, Avignon etc) are also damn fine islands considdering they only used BIS objects, as is the previously mentioned Freya.

A couple more of my favourites are Anjou by Pupsi, Newland by JJracing and Meekong Delta by Hell's Circus even though they're not so generous on framerates.

It looks very nice and has a realNorthern Europe feel to it.

Great map, with an eye for detail. Don't worry about armour or aircraft, just enjoy intense infantry firefights.

Currently running PUKF & MAP Naval Infantry through they paces, and both sides want a quiter sector
