@NW: Well that depends on your definition of in the army, I am but a simple weekend warrior

Hey if you wear the uniform and went through the training, in my eyes you're in the army. Tonal will make a great island for a Liberia like setting. And that upcoming Northern Ireland mod could give me the oppertunity to make some border crossings and snuff out the IRA!! So like you said no need for islands. Hey do the irish infantry use body armour? I havent seen much pictures of them with it.

Same as with everyone else, its worn when required, thats increasingly the case...as you'll see in most of the pictures in Liberia.

It can be seen as very threatening and alienating to civilians in low intensity situations which is why its much less visible in shots from Kosovo and Lebanon.

The Brits came up with a clever work around in NI, they wore the body armour under their smocks, which both hid the warlike appearance of the armour and made them look like uber buff supermen

thats what you said, the fact is that they are small addon team, trying to make a small addon pack of the irish army , they are not trying to do anything on the scale that CSLA or FDF team are trying to do

Although when you play with 'em, you've got to be ready for the homoerotic chatter you hear in the middle of a firefight:

The bad news is we've had to scrap our troop config and start again...

The good news is that SniperUK is due to reestablish his internet connection and send us the completed PIII model this week.

I'll keep you informed.

Heres a slight update:

Missions: We have in the works, a Dynamic Campaign by Tacrod, Laury Thorn has donated one of his/her (Sorry Laury can't figure which) publicly released missions, we have demonstration missions by AceCombat and maybe even one by myself.

Plus I'm sure 1st Irish Rangers will oblige us with their ARW campaign as soon as the pack is released.

Addons: There are a number of addons on release that fit with the Irish pack but we aren't for various reasons keen to include.

These include:

MLV_35MM Oerlikon

MLV_ AML 90 (this is an older version of the 90 than we currently use so we'll wait for our custom model)

MLV_CVR(T) SCorpion ....as above

OFRP_MILAN (Because everybody should have the excellent OFRP packs already)

Any GPMG SF addon (Because there are several versions floating about so why add to the confusion.)

Although we could be convinced to include the Oerlikon, all pending permission of course.
