Hi,

I first wanted to post a request link to all the "cheat" programs used in OFP because I want to find out how it's done. I have been playing OFP for over 2 years now and not sure if I'm still a plain un-skilled player. I do the best I can to improve my playing and believe I'm pretty quick with the mouse and keyboard. After all the practice I have done, I cannot understand and comprehend how skilled most of the people on the servers are; it's amazing. I just got DSL and thought all along it was 56k, but I still do very poorly. So instead of asking for the links to the cheat programs, I ask if you could please post here the "read me" files on them (if there are any) so I can read about it and how to cheat. If there's more than one, please post.

Why would you want to know that? That only increases the cheater hysteria. Most players ARE that good, it comes from over 3 years of training. Suspecting them of cheating is rude.

But if you want to know what one cheat can do:

-remove buildings, woods, etc from an island

-colorize player models (aimbot not working afaik)

-give you four dozens of scripts to teleport self or others, kill payers, spawn vehicles, destroy mhqs, create fortifications, etc

-gives you a long fake player id

How you cheat?

Well pretty easily. First change you players name to "125B6" this opens the options for modifying your players settings for MP game. Then go to your Flashpoint folder and create a wordfile in which you enter your CD key. Then in the second line you write "denoiriscrazy 100.000,05" as well as "Avonlady3comes2from1israel5but8idont6know5from2where5exatly.

If you want to be able to change settings during MP game you add a line saying "Albert8Schweitzer7is3the1smartest&man4on/the(board"

Save the file as mestupid.pbo or melooser.pbo.

That is about it. Enter the game and put View distance on highest and terrain level on highest. Dont be afraid. The level wont change but now in MP you will see cheatcommands on the right top corner

On another forum not so long ago, somebody posted the "noobs" guide to OFP, Velcro I believe it was, here's what I can remember off the top of my head:

Mouse sensitivity:

Roller Ball:

Higher mouse sensitivity the better.

Optical:

Lower, personally I have mine set to: 0.860001 for both X and Y. Also make sure you have any mouse acceleration turned off in the windows control panel.

Frame Rates

You should aim to be getting around 30-40fps minimum, the higher the fps, the smoother things are. This can be achieved in a couple of ways:

1. Upgrading your computer.

2. Regular maintenance, e.g. regular defrags, reformating atleast once every 6 months, running ad-aware etc

3. Lowering your graphics detail and/or resolution.

- Ideally on a 17" monitor you should be aiminig to play in 1280x1024. The pro's of being able to see clearer far outweigh the drop in framerate.

- If when playing a mission you find it too laggy <15fps, drop down the visual quality bar a few notches. *note - not to low as it makes it hard to make out who is who.

- Disable eax, more of a hinderance than a help, the extra sound effects are not worth the drop in frames.

Clean Install

It also helps to have a clean OFP install. I have two installs, one where I can have every mod evermade in for singleplayer purposes, and another that is pure vanilla OFP and WGL. A mass of addons can slow down the performance of OFP.

Bitching

If you constantly bitch at other players, you will constantly underperform, consentrait on what you do, not the others around you.

Reaction-Time

This is something that you cannot really improve on immediatley. It comes with practice, but if your tired, had a hard day at work, then play a game, don't expect to be in the top 10.

Learn

Ask some of the more senior players for help, you'll find the majority of them are nice guys, and will atleast point you in the right direction. It also helps if you play with the same group of guys regularly, pick up on how they play.

You'll find that very few people cheat in OFP, despite all the hysteria. There is just a large gap between the good and average players, which has to do, of course, with the amount of time someone plays the game.

that's not true when it's ppl who have played for 3 years naming off known cheaters

I have seen 8-16 Elite players in the same CTF at the same time, I have seen all those players play hundred of times, and they all get high scores fighting for the top

then one lone person starts getting 3-6 times the kills with those same Elite players

Short of mind reading a cheat was used, denying cheats exist or that your server will catch all cheaters is the biggest load of shit there is - this is something you don't seem to understand

As a Roughneck we have now Boycotted Squads that use these such players, they Exist, Denying that is also moronic

I've been accused of Cheating in the past, but I was vindicated, during the match game I had only 5 kills and was in 5th place, it was tactics that made sure I never died once, I had OFP Merged errors becasue i never ran them, the Server checked 1.46 files and not RES 1.91 Res/Merged.pbo - the file checks were in error - and still today i do not have 1.46 merged.pbo since i play RES, but today a player getting 60 kills while other Elite players have 15-20 (not to mention shooting thru bushes and houses) is just not possible in OFP - and every one knows it, Some squads hide behind it, knowing but crave the Win and look the other way

So what can I do when my frame rate is at ~7fps, visual distance 860, visual details 0, building shadows off, resolution 1024x768 and terrain level on normal?

those higher kill ratios above main stream Elite players all ways has players saying "what the fk he shot me threw a wall/bush or past Fog Range"

Kdog35, u probly played some CQB maps witch requires fast reactions. Play C&H where the skills is more of an movement tactic then reaction. OFP have diffrent skill, fast reaction isnt yours

A couple of you guys need to go back to the top of the page and re-read my post. I didn't ask for the program cheat's you stupid f**ks, I asked for the read me files.

And people are not suspect? If your all defensive about this post your probably cheating.

And someone mentioned about shooting through bushes...that what I'm asking about.

I also played in a couple of WGL seasons with SWAF 2 years ago and NEVER back then (in the tournaments) remember guys so skilled. I'm just questioning the speed of these players physically with the mouse and keyboard.

It's not rude to ask honest questions, just curious about the cheating because it DOES exists.

And about cheating. There is a thin line between a great player and a cheater. Mostly the great or even just a little bit better than avarage get painted as cheaters and as quoting Mal: "That is sad."

I saw a cheat today which was something I havent seen before: When playing on hex, I saw a guy and suddenly, he just aimed towards the skies and I shot him. I thought to myself that ah well, maybe his mouse looped or something. But when encountering the second enemy few seconds later, my gun aimed towards the skies by itself! The same happened to the enemy I was about to shoot and there we were, looking at eachother and trying to wonder what the hell is going on.

Well we reassigned and tried again.. Once we spawned, everyone from our side were aiming up towards the skies.

Anyone else encountered this before?

Thats normal discussion style for mal. He always claims that you said something that you didn't, he always claims stuff he never proves and he always insults his discussion partners. If there was a filter function in this forum he were the first and only i would filter out. Nothing he says has any value, except if you like to be insulted, because there is no information in any of his posts. Only (mostly ridiculous) claims and insults.
