Pathy 0 Posted September 16, 2004 Ok first of all i'm extremely aprehensive about this. I'm expecting a nasty mauling along the lines of "Not more f***ing Deltas"   but, hell, if you don't like em then screw ya!  Second of all, probably none of you have even known what we've been developing, so i better tell you some things. -The pack has been in development for over 6 months now. -It is still currently BETA and there are a few issues, mainly script related, that need fixing up. -It contains 8 base models (i think, that was the last count i heard  ) with at least  8 loadouts on each. -The pack represents both Delta Force and Green beret units and includes pretty much an unheard of variation in webbing and gear types...hopefully this will reflect on the real life nature of the range of Special Forces gear worn. At the moment its only a team BETA, and we are still using the MAP weapons and JAM. However, the final version will be standalone, using, with permission, modified versions of Earls weapons (as they are the shiznit) with things like Camo'd up M4s and lots of gucci kit on them, and quite a few of our own weapons as well. Once this initial BETA period is over we will move to a second BETA stage which will be extended to everyone whos earned it over the years outside of the team.   Then we will release a final version once the pack is perfect. Other than that, i'm going to keep some shit back to tease you  Pictures! Edit this link should work better. http://uksp.ofpcentral.com/forum....3;image And these 2 should display fine. http://www.galwar.co.uk/Nightst....t&id=29 http://www.galwar.co.uk/Nightst....t&id=30 Finally, Credits, straight from the readme: Models: Registered_Fugitiv, Pathfinder Textures: P Machine, Pathfinder, SASR_Sabre, Registered_fugitiv Thanks to Marine_Sniper for letting us use and modify his Ghillie suit model and textures Although my names in there, i have hardly done shit on this pack. Registered Fugitiv deserves most of the praise here, and Micke of course for most of the textures. SASR sabre will when he redoes the pouch textures Oh one final note, we are planning to darken the BDU as it looks abit too light. Other than that we will not be redoing the BDU textures.  Comments and feedback very welcome. Oh and we are currently residing at http://www.galwar.co.uk/Nightstalker/forum/ but the sign up is kinda screwed so i have to authenicate manually. That means i have to check if anyone else has signed up (it doesnt even show new members, its stuck at 7), so if you do sign up to the forums, i will try and check regually to make sure nobody is waiting, but if that fails, give me an email at OFP_pathfinder@hotmail.com and ill shift my ass.

MrZig 0 Posted September 16, 2004 These look kickass! Good job!!!!
miss_cleo 0 Posted September 16, 2004 if your going to do deltas/green berets maybe you can add some units in the civvie gear you see them in over in afganistan? If your working w/ earls weapons see if he'll let you use his SR-47 and SR-74, they would be berfect for the green berets
Pathy 0 Posted September 16, 2004 Unfortunately we are only doing units for our Colombian campaign, so any afgan style units arent part of our arena. Would love to do some but we have an SAS pack to get on with after this
miss_cleo 0 Posted September 16, 2004 maybe not necessarily afgan units, but maybe green berets w/ civilian gear to match the colombian environment then? just some low profile gear, baseball hats, sweatshirts, civilain boots and the like
miss_cleo 0 Posted September 16, 2004 what are you going to be using for opfor? Might i suggest soem female units for the opfor? Nat'l Geographic had some pics a few months ago of a badass FARC chica w/ a M249
Pathy 0 Posted September 16, 2004 We have FARC models currently under dev and some ELN are planned. Â Edit: C'mon guys, they say opinions are like arseholes, everyones got one, so lets see some more of your <s>arseholes</s> opinions. I don't mind if you really dont like them i'm just not going to let it affect me
Parker Hale 0 Posted September 16, 2004 Hi Pathy, You did ask for opinions so here goes. I hate them utterly....despise them completely....wouldn't dress my dog in those clothes....blah blah blah etc Seriously though, I think these units are so cool (especially with those nice shades), amazing work pathy and hope to see them released soon. Parker Hale Edit....I imagine my rotty pet would look good in those shades.
BoweryBaker 0 Posted September 16, 2004 You wanted my opinion so my major concern is, will there be several squads with everyone dressed alike, or just one squad with everyone dressed different? I'd go for the first option with the exception of a sniper of course who would wear a boonie hat. Good luck.
sv5000 127 Posted September 16, 2004 Thye look good, You cant see much from the screen shot, but there appears to be some difference in the units, which is also good. The only thing that stands out is that the weps appear to let the units down, IMHO Other then that they look tops.
Pathy 0 Posted September 16, 2004 Weps are Marine Assault Pack stuff ATM. Soon to be replaced with this kinda thing: http://www.galwar.co.uk/Nightst....st&id=4 (modified earls M4, i'm doing retextures of it) Plus added extras like tac lights (using that unit light thing, but hopefully we think we can script it so that it'll only turn on with particular weapons, ie the guns with tac lights on) and other accessories. I will post up some more screens to show it, but theres quite abit of variation, i will get fugy to come here cause he knows how many sets of webbing and shit there are. All i know is that the last time i asked him there were 8 different base models with about 8 different load outs on each. And i dunno if that included the sniper.  So potentially 64 different units.   Add in things like random shades(thats still to be scripted, along with the random blood type patches....our scripter is being f***in lazy at the moment   ), and hey.....thats alot. As for squads, they are kinda grouped into sets, like CQB, Jungle Patrol, ect, so that if you use a guy from the set, although a normal soldier will not have the same gear as the radioman or medic, he wont be out of place. However, there is variation within the set, so.....man i dunno exactly what you were asking, but....hell, its varied. At the moment, in the BETA loadouts there are 24 different units. I think. But our current BETA doesnt include the whole lot yet As for the shades, they are pretty much the only part of the models and textures that are mine.   I insisted that i helped somehow.

monty67t 0 Posted September 17, 2004 Well as some of you know I have been begging for some SF for a long time. I am very stoked about this pack and I am looking forward to using them. I am still shocked that there are many Delta/Rangers out there, but no SF. I guess you can thank Blackhawk Down for that . Keep up the good work gentlemen. Monty @ Pathfinder Give me a hollar man . . . soon.

AOCbravo2004 0 Posted September 17, 2004 I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! It that pletonic, non-gay sort of way (don't ask don't tell HAHA). I have been waiting for good stuff about Colombia, for some time I've wanted FARC or Narco troops in a Colombian terrain to sort of simulate the actions in Clear and Present Danger. I am currently working on a couple of missions based on the movie, so far I have the insertion scene completed. I've made two versions of it, one using Laser's Delta, and the other using BAS Ranger 1.55, the 'covert' Rangers since they are wearing the boonies. I am currently trying to figure out how to rip the audio from CAPD from the insertion scene. I can't wait for your guys mod now, good stuff!!! There was some Colombian units released long ago, but they were just ok, what is needed is a good island based on the geogrpahy of colombia. George
Pathy 0 Posted September 17, 2004 Well we have a very highly thought of addon maker making us FARC units, i'll leave it up to him if he wants it made public though, but....they should be good As for HD, thats no problem, im a fan of HD. I'll try and take some more screens but i'm away for the weekend, so you may have to wait abit. Unless someone else from my mod posts some screens up

Lt_Phoenix 0 Posted September 17, 2004 I've also been looking forward to some decent SF units, other than Delta. Can't wait to try em out Also looking forward to some decent SAS troopers
m21man 0 Posted September 17, 2004 Quote[/b] ]Unless someone else from my mod posts some screens up I've already got some, I just need to touch them up in Photoshop before I post them (Once classes are over ).
Pathy 0 Posted September 17, 2004 I've also been looking forward to some decent SF units, other than Delta. Can't wait to try em out Also looking forward to some decent SAS troopers  On another note, while the US SF pack is only really woodland/jungle, the SAS pack is Woodland, jungle, Counter Revolutionary warfare and desert. But thats another topic for later discussion after we finish these US SF off.  Another picture, this time of the CQB guys, caption: Deltas kitted out for CQB get breifed by thier squad leader before a raid. http://www.galwar.co.uk/Nightst....t&id=33 BTW i also like to sharpen my images with photoshop, nobody has any complaints about that i hope? They shouldnt do, its what most addon makers do
FerretFangs 0 Posted September 17, 2004 How much sharpening did you do, exactly? I mean, Holy Crappola, they look awesome, and I'm loving the model variation! Are you intending on doing any desert textures at all for these guys? I mean, it would round it off nicely, you know? I'd love to see some operators/advisors in "civilian-style" in khaki, and "Gucci/Yuppy" kit for protection detail and undercover work, too. I know many other people have seen them on the news kitted out this way, in recent trouble spots. And it's been widely discussed here on the boards. You'd be the first moddler doing units like that, too, hint, hint. Oh, and BTW, they might look a little less "nerdish", if you'd put some tint into those goggles.
