hey thanks tegs & others for the pics and comments. Glad at least some folks enjoyed the building. Hopefully this building may pave the way for more interactive ones to come by other better addon makers, a developement started by Brsseb.

Err...not sure if i shud set up a website featuring my addons, cos its mostly experimental to further develope ofp1, definately not of quality. For better addons i would recommend the hosting sites, they do have many quality ones to select from.

@edejl:- initially the building was created at size 100m X 100m with more rooms but unfortunately due to the amount of geometric components not working i had to reduced it to 60m X 60m, deleted several components and rigously tested with collision detection working fully except for 1st man bashing thru doors. No droping thru of floors was found if the setpos is used to position soldiers on different levels, but if the soldiers runs from outside the building into the building even up to the roof, he shouldnt fall off. Could u tell me where u experience it cos i tested again but i couldnt find any instances where it happen?

I think theres a slight bug, testing it recently.

On many of the doors, I cannot fire until Im actually inside the building. If I fire, it hits some sort of invisible block.

As well, in the main area of the embassy, I cannot hit any guard above on the second between the Bars. Borrowing one of the pictures, the yellow is what I am talking about. smile_o.gif

I'd ask if anyone else has this problem. Otherwise I love it, very accessable for any manner of player or editor, and hope more people follow Phils direction

@Shalashaska:- yes, its true, if u are on the ground floor trying to fire up, its a no go cos there is a collision detection wall between the 2 bars on level 2. You cant shoot thru it nor can the enemy shoot u, unless u both are nearer to the railings, a touch of ofp realism. The only way is to frag or flashbang them to clear the 2 level..thats what troops do in real. If u noticed, the doors are actually very thin, but the geometry model have to be thicker in order to work, so that could be a reason why at the edge of doors u seem to hit a brick wall. I can only hope that ofp2 collison detection works for smaller thickness instead of the current 50cm limitation.

@wongkeanwah:- That the doors cannot be closed are done on purpose. Its easy to close them, just a few more lines in the config but there are altogether 18 animatable doors. I am very concern about creating more lag on the processor so i figured there wont be much need to close doors than to open it and left the option out. I am sure even now as it is, it can be laggy should u place 60 soldiers in the same area, thats why i had to use all paa files instead of better quality jpgs. I wont sacrifice game play for quality wink_o.gif

Good call Phil. I agree... good framerates should take precedence over features. I was going to say that the building looks kinda empty but then I realised that if you added alot of furniture it would greatly decrease framerates...plus mission makers can add that stuff using setpos commands.

However...I do have one criticism... Isn't that the old East German eagle on the outside? It would be better if the building didn't have that cuz its kinda hard to have the building simulating an embassy of a specific country with that eagle on it.

But other then that I'm pretty happy with the embassy.

Nice work. I've been waiting for someone to release to Urban SAS guys seen as my personal ones suck tounge_o.gif

Next time add alittle bit more defenition and modeling to the gas mask. smile_o.gif

Phil fills the void again with this amazing addon though not sure how it will play out yet as i have only just downloaded it.

CQB in OFP has never really worked well in my opinion but with what has been achieved so far in pushing the boundaries of the engine, well anything is possible.

hey tks for the comments.

There is a table and a chair addon in the placement mission file - just an example of how to place furniture addons. I could only use the officials ones for i worry that others may not have the kegetys editor upgrade, thats why only 2 furniture. Just replace the setpos height and it will be on the ground.

The crest on the building is actually the coat of arms of an european empire, can be remove if u depbo it and replace it with something else.

Tks Parker for the link...very interesting for urban warfare developement.
