Heatseeker 0 Posted August 28, 2004 From the videos of attacks I´ve seen it´s number 3 and 4. #3 and 4 would make nice replacements for the BIS urals in OPF .

Balschoiw 0 Posted August 28, 2004 OPF ? Operation Puffy Fluffy ? And yes..they would...there is a russian TV series called "Spetsnaz" that uses the 3rd variant pretty often...does anyone know it btw ? The series, not the truck
Heatseeker 0 Posted August 28, 2004 OPF ? Operation Puffy Fluffy ? Â Â Â Op.(Operation)+F (Flashpoint) You OFP people are funny...OFP= Oferation Plashpoint, flashpoint is a single word, operation is usualy shortened to op. . #3 is a ural but it just looks better than the BIS ural . Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted August 29, 2004 OPF ? Operation Puffy Fluffy ? Â Â Â Op.(Operation)+F (Flashpoint) Â O. (Operation) F. (Flash) P. (Point)
Milkman 1 Posted August 29, 2004 In my world, OP is abbreviation for Operation. Flashpoint is one word (As displayed on the box of the game) therefore, Operation Flashpoint = OPF. BUT When talking, "OFP" flows off the mouth much more easily than "OPF." Ah... a true paradox.
blackdog~ 0 Posted August 29, 2004 And since no one plays this game anymore you could just say Operation Flashpoint (people who say abbreviations in real talk are very veird!) I would say all of those trucks have been used throughout the war, after all you must remember that Russia's current defense budget is very small - so they use everything for as long as they possibly can. Crowley 0 Posted August 29, 2004 Not entirely on topic, but I believe CSLA has a variant of 1/4 in the works, as seen here: http://games.tiscali.cz/flashpoint/pics_cp/csla2lacerta_pic_02w.jpg Better yet, the actual thread: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....;st=
GoOB 0 Posted August 29, 2004 The CSLA trucks you just posted links to are the Tatra, and the GAZ-69. The Tatra trucks and the Kamaz are quite similar indeed, but I beleive they are completly different trucks And the GAZ-69 is a military jeep

Looks more like a US FMTV than either of the original pics really.

blackdog~ 0 Posted August 30, 2004 Oops, I meant during WWII - the GAZ-67 was post war =) Government contracts are very strict. That's why you don't see Ford or Jeep making stuff anymore - that's why General Motors created AM General. Unfortunately, this also means that they can make the government pay as much as they want as they have absolutely no competition.

The Russian military doesn't use western pickup trucks, so i believe that those Dodge Rams are actually used by the Georgians, who receive American assistance. On the subject of pickups being used by militaries, The manufacturers have shown military versions of the F150 and Silverado, and I think that the US military uses older model GM trucks mainly for transport in the rear areas. Many small militaries use civilian pickups (mainly Toyota or Nissan) to move their troops around.
