FerretFangs 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I perfer the Regular 3 color and Woodland kind, SEALs don't use Nomex that much. It's primarily used for CQB, ship boarding, and MOUT. DEVGRU typically deploys in Nomex. But they are anti-terror specialists, who do mostly CQB, hostage rescue, and snatch&grab ops. Red Cell forever, baby! ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Here is a O2 picture US Navy Seal Sorry picture is a bit dark The model isn't finished yet there is still plenty to do
Rishon 0 Posted July 7, 2004 lol, definately plenty to do. Looks good so far, make sure to bring out depth. Use plenty of Poly's and stuff. I suck at Modeling, so I can't talk, but, theres one thing I do know. The More Poly's it has, and the better you use them, the better the model is. If this is Half as good as your Sea/Blackhawks. We've got it made.

ExtracTioN 0 Posted July 7, 2004 The base model of the Seal pack I work I have from Frandsen he was working on this model when he and Skaven were on TOW long time ago they started it but never finished so I asked him to work on it and as you see progress is being made

MSpencer 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Rishon, an action figure does not mean the SEALs do not commonly deploy in Nomex flight suits. Here's what I find interesting. SEAL Team 8 is a maritime antiterrorism force. They commonly use Nomex flight suits over BDUs. SEAL Team 6 used Nomex. Their missions demand some type of clothing such as Nomex. Next time, don't cite a GI Joe.
FerretFangs 0 Posted July 7, 2004 And I was in the Navy, aboard a carrier, where SEALs were not an uncommon sight. They taught my damage control station what to do in the event a nuclear weapon, ( Not that we had any, mind. ) were to have a "broken arrow" malfunction- ie. the conventional explosive detonator explodes, on the deck, scattering bits of plutonium fissile material all over the hanger. Yep, seen lot's of SEALs in Nomex. Â BTW, I passed entrance into BUDs. But my eyesight is so poor they would not allow me to attend. Back then, they required 20/20, and laser correction was not an option.
Laser 0 Posted July 7, 2004 wellz we should try asking the guys making tose european deltas vit isnt or orcs? More like "The Russian Deltas", LOL 'Cause i'm Russian, you know Well, let me just say that ORCS have nothing to do with these, it's LSR project, not ICP or ORCS. To the topic... you MIGHT want to count me in... but the keyword is "time". I'd be rather interested to implement the SEAL guys into OFP, but being a husband and a father (after all, i try hard to be like that, LOL) plus having a bad case of OFP addonmaking addiction proves to be rather complicated matter sometimes. And please note that I'm NOT PROMISING anything...

DB-ERAUPilot 0 Posted July 7, 2004 what ever actually happened to the SEALs BAS was working on? Did the guy who was working on them computer crash and all data was lost or something..the reason I'm asking is if the actual models are still intact they could help the guy who is gonna pick up the torch and carry on with the project.... BoweryBaker 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Well, what bas said about that is, they'll discuss the dismay from the community amongst themselves and decide on what the best option is. If you guys want to see some seals pictures i got plenty of them action figure images. They're accurate too.
DB-ERAUPilot 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Yeah I looked at those action figures they look pretty acurate they remind alot of the pilot figures modeled after different types of aircrews in the military..most of em are CRAZY expesive though
BoweryBaker 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I once bought a hong kong S.D.U. figure for fifty bucks back when i was like eighteen. Gave it away to some kid. No way in hell I could ever get into that stuff, not with ofp. I'd rather have ofp then buy those figures. At least in ofp I can actually play with my special forces guys at a much cheaper price, but im thankful that those figures exist. Modelers can get good ideas off of them. I don't like being flamed, nor do I like being talked to with that kind of "Know-it-all" attitude. I have met SEALs, and one I have talked to and asked said he disliked Nomex on Land Missions, but, they use them alot on VBSS and Other types of operations, My mistake. Also, I said I PERFER three-color and Woodland BDU's to Nomex, it has no camoflage and it just doesn't fit right (Yes, as an Airsofter, I have a Nomex Flight suit). Thank you for being a jackass, have a nice day.
DB-ERAUPilot 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Can anyone guess what units these guys belong to? SEALs...um NO the first are Battlion Recon(not Force Recon) Marines, the second are a Marine SRT(SWAT) and the last are a Marine FAST team wearing nomex. My point is NO ONE on this board unless you are a SEAL, married to a SEAL or live with a SEAL know EXACTLY what they are wearing these days...all special op units pretty much have acess to the same gear especially when it comes to the same types of missions..this is common sense they all operate under ONE ultimate budget, while there are maybe a FEW things that you could see MAYBE tell the difference between units in the field..it's not worth splitting hairs over or flaming one another for as long as the addons aren't wearing poka-dot pink and look relatively like pics normally associated with SEALs people will be happy. blackdog~ 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Funny you mention that I took those pictures of BAS's seal pack and unfortunately my computer did crash and burn but I know that at least Tigershark had them... PS: In my untrained opinion those things were done. Textures were perfect on everything, weapons were perfect. The DPV was the only thing that had some bugs to work out otherwise they were done. FerretFangs 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Well, wasn't there a statement from BAS about the SEALs not being ready because of scripting issues? Trying to make them smarter, or something?
