Charon-VW:BB- 0 Posted July 6, 2004 Hi! @bmgarcangel: Thanks for your comment I think during the next time we'll work on our one, first. And if the time is right for a cooperation (and not only a coop between us and the unsung but a coop with all people who are interested in nam) we'll do so. @WackyIraqi: No Comment
drow 0 Posted July 6, 2004 The Unsung has an open invitation to ALL Vietnam modders for possible cooperation (depending on your work of course). Charon and I have been discussing a - Mass Nam Colaboration - for a long time. Everyone just needs to be ready for it, and I agree with Charon, theres no harm in waiting, things get better with time as we all know. Â @Charon, I found it quite hard to find my way around your forum, the "English" forum did contain topics in English, but everything like "post reply" and such are all still in German. I would suggest maybe making another forum thats all in English, for sucka's like me who can only speek one language. Â Â
Charon-VW:BB- 0 Posted July 8, 2004 A Colaboration would be the best way i think. In my opinion this also means that a whole new Mod/alliance have to be build up because if someone still hang on to his mod project the others could thing that he/she tries exploit them and their work for his/her own mod and not for the colaboration. "things get better with time" what more could i say @drow: Hmmm damn it, my pedagogical method to force everyone to learn german is destroyed   Ok only joking ... we'll try to fix that problem soon ... i reported this "error" to the webmaster already ... when it will have been fixed i'll tell you. Greetings, Charon
drow 0 Posted July 8, 2004 yea i think theres hope, see the new WW2 mod Alliance? I will not abandon the concept of the unsung no matter what, but i will give anyone credit for anything of theirs we use, and im not planning to exploit anyone. Inside the ww2 alliance still excists all those seperate mods, this was my plan for the vietnam thing. We can put credits in a readme stating what mod made what addons used in what mission etc. Im more into doing cooperation, sharing our addons for use in eachothers missions, making all our addons compatible (the only new nam addons will likely be our two mods) so they can be played together etc. Collaboration on the other hand would mean a whole new project, but im sorry m8, "The Unsung" is quite marketable, its liek a title, liek a movie name and took a long time to build to this point so i would not abandon the creative concept of it to begin a new mod, I would rather share resources, something we can ensure we do equally of course. But youve heard me say all this many times before. Drow
Charon-VW:BB- 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Yeah i know your point of view thats right Ok i wouldn't give the whole VW:BB project up so easily too because the mod was invented over a year ago and much freetime of me and my members went throught this mod (and it still goes on ... but if there would be a possibility to get in touch with more excellent addon makers which want an objectiv, reality based mod too i would do my best to support the whole new project. It's the Nam war and vietnamese history iam interested in not the title or the fame someone will give me for the work. I started the mod because i wanted more than the seb pack could offer me. But i dunno how u get into the "nam world" , drow, but i don't think that your way wasn't really different or am i wrong? Greets, Charon
drow 0 Posted July 8, 2004 HEHE, i didnt mean that "The Unsung" woudl be my ticket to fame or any of that kind of crap, i just meant that its a marketable concept, not for money, but for people to hear about our mod, and play it, and hopefully learn more than steriotypes and cliches about Vietnam. We've all seen the 10 or so Vietnam movies... we've all played the Vietnam games, and we all still dont know anything about Vietnam. Hopefully these mods can bring forth some little known facts and happenings of the nam war, as well as honor the unsung heros if you will, who willingly fought for a country that didnt appreciate it. edit - by "we still dont know anything about nam" i meant the public, you need to read to actually learn about Vietnam. Drill Sergeant 0 Posted July 8, 2004 The Unsung has an open invitation to ALL Vietnam modders for possible cooperation (depending on your work of course). *Runs*  What do you mean by truths? I'm interested, allot of people THINK they know allot about NAM just because they watched TV/movies. Allot of  people THINK NAM was a dirty war just because they were told that and the other way around.. How does your mod portray it? (What kind of stand point.) This is like a educational mod right? *hopes* Also a "good" book on NAM is "NAM", which is a collection of memorys written by Vietnam service men and women. (2-8 page storys). I'd reccommentthat book.
