billybob2002 0 Posted June 22, 2004 Hello, I'm the guy you usually gets gangraped in the Iraq topic. Anyway, I need suggestions for a topic that can deal with World War 2 or Korea or Vietnam or any commonly known conflict. Furthermore, it should be a persuasive one. There should be a lot of information on the topic in which I can do a 5 min speech. Can YOU (forum members) help me, plz? off-topic: My informative speech on the M4A3 got me an A-.... Help a brotha out. Edit: I got to Wed. to choose one...
ozanzac 0 Posted June 22, 2004 The choices are huge. Name a specific part of either of those conflicts that interest you. And choose that. 5 minutes on either conflict is just enough to barely scrape the surface.
killagee 0 Posted June 22, 2004 Try the Chenju Massacre, where South Korean Soldiers under US command killed 48000 Chenju Island civilians. It happened about 1948 i think...

WhoCares 0 Posted June 22, 2004 However, a 5min 'speech' about a big conflict - you can barely scratch the surface in that time. They should give at least 15mins to give some room for personal research. In 5mins you can just take a Wikipedia entry - currently they feature an article about the White Rose on their main page - would make another good topic  btw: What kind of school is that, where you give speeches and make essays about all this military stuff? Do you happen to be a cadet at Bunker Hill?!

Do you happen to be a cadet at Bunker Hill?!  It is a persuasive speech about any subject within a conflict. So, for example, the allied bombings of German industries was not effective during World War 2, and I would have to persuasive people it was not. I chose military stuff for my speech because I wanted to be different. The class is called SPH 101 and I need it for a BA in criminal justice. One person did a info. speech on STDs and used graphic pictures (i.e. REAL) without telling nobody ahead of time..... Keep them coming (THANKS)...
Akira 0 Posted June 22, 2004 A fun one could always be that the US did not need to drop the A-bomb to win WW2. Or, can take one from the forum and do one on how the Iraq War was justified.....should be fun in a university (ie liberal) setting Another one could be how the US military is not ready for the "War On Terror" type conflict. I'm currently thinking about the Iraq war was justified. Anyway, keep the ideas rolling.
