2) Touching and obstructing the goalie in his 6 yard box means interruption of play and free kick - its in the rules, read it yourself.

Problem is the two strikers jumped 1st, the goalkeeper was under the playes when he jumped, they did not obstruct him in anyway.

I watched the game on beamer and I have to sday that England missed it´s chances long before the penalty shootout. The team was rather inactive in the first half after the lead in the 2nd minute. Portugese did an excellent job and pushed very hard at your defences. Statistics said that they had 61 percent control of the ball while the english team only had 39 percent during the first half.

The referee decision to not give the goal can be debated but there also was a portugese goalshot that was taken out of your goal by a defense player that may have been a scoregoal also. If 2 english players attack the goalkeeper in his technical zone and hinder him to get to the ball it´s a no-go.

Easy as that. Anyway you had your chances to fix that in the penalty shootout but the portugese made it.

Congratulations to Portugal !

That will at least guarantee that we see some nice portugese female fans again

The Swedes were doing alot worse things when Ibrahimovic equalised against Italy, 2 defenders were pulled to the ground, and the keeper was brushed aside.

Buffon jumped out to reach the ball and ended up on Ibrahimovic's back and fell down.

If you're gonna blame this defeat on someone let it be David James or Beckham. David alongside with Bulgaria's goalkeeper have been the worst in this cup. Beckhams penalty is just laughable.

Good game though and believe it or not I wanted England to win.

Great game to watch as a neutral.  

That "incident" at the end of the game, pfffft, I recorded the match on my sky box, looking back at it now its more a case of the keeper mis-timing his jump (as if hes not known about the rebound off the bar) more than him getting fouled.

Shocking refereeing throughout the tournament, not just this game, not been helped by the fact every player has been doing cartwheels at the slightest touch.

erm our ref sucked the **** very much, you have to admit though he aint been the best ref of the tournament, tbh he did lack the skill to be refin this level of competition, you we could have rapped it up alot earlier, but then again if we have a goal disallowed but allowed by the linesman who had a better view, you cant say o well you had your chances, we were cheated and thats that, dont matter if we had a million and one chances if we have one goal cheated from us we deserved to win. btw i'm sorry just got back from the pub, had a 4 pint pitcher per 1/2.

Yeah, he was no Collina, but he was pretty even. I did not get the feeling that he was pro-Protugese or something like that.

I think it's pretty unclear. Watch the replay of the incident. It was not a serious foul - had it been on the field, it would have gone unnoticed. But this was with the goal keeper - they're pretty much holy cows as far as the refs are concerned.

Nah, you didn't. You played ok, but Portugal played better and was more alive during the game. I was rooting originaly for England, but the Portugese won me over the first half. They did play better and more entertaining.

Don't take me wrong, kudos to the English team for playning a very entertaining game - but in the end Portugal was better. So unfair goal or not, from a neutral point of view, Portugal did deserve to win.

As a dutchmen I think my money for saturday is on the swedes (also, i am sucking up to the SFP Guys :P ). Though it will be a good fight I think Talking of refferees, the one we got against the czech republic team wasnt unfair but man was he quick to blow his whistle. He really killed the game allot of times when he should have just let them go on. Not saying he was biased one way or another .... i think both sides lost chances due to that The Czechs are REALLY playing a great tournament so far. Heinzes goal against germany was a beauty! I think they are going to go far

Terry was not even looking at the Ricardo.

Terry's arm landed on Ricardo when Terry was comming down.

That shot shows the ball comming off the bar, not heading for goal until Campell sticks his nut to it.

thats only true if you willfully obstruct the keepr, if the keep is under you and jumps in to you then its not valid if you touch him, the keeper jumped in to them not the other way round, even Alan hansen feels that it was a goal and thats saying sumin.

ps thats stupid statement, i was merely pointing out that the photo depicts terry with his hand on ricardo, it also shows that he aint putting any weight on him.
