Ex-RoNiN 0 Posted June 20, 2004 heres a question to the portugese and greeks, on the matches youve seen so far in the tournament , who would you rather play, france england or croatia? defintiely england, we owe ya one! tbh tho, i dont care, we have done the amazing thing, i am well chuffed with the achieved alone!!!!!!!111111
denoir 0 Posted June 20, 2004 Poor Spanish bastards, they were really out of luck. Anyway both Portugal and Spain sucked big time IMO. Only mindless attacks, no defence and crappy end shots. It was amusing for the first 30 minutes because of their enormous energy and running around. Overall, I'd say Portugal will be creamed by the one it meets in the quarters, be it England or Croatia. Postduifje 0 Posted June 20, 2004 Congratulations Greece and Portugal! But I'm affraid both won't get far though. We'll see...
MiG2003 0 Posted June 20, 2004 We never know that  we are in the QUARTER FINALS and that's what really matters. I believe we can bit Croatia or England, i'd prefer to defeat England right now, it was more tasty. Our team is now as it should be in the first match against Greece. Escolari make the right choice this time And the Final will be between Czech Republic and Portugal, i hope, like the way those guys are playing MiG
bonko the sane 2 Posted June 20, 2004 haha!!!! were in ! Great game, i dont agree it was mindless attacks and no defense at all, it was a good game in all aspects, we were lucky but played quite well.
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted June 21, 2004 Maybe defensive football is the way to go but I will never watch it. Bingo! Noone is talking about a purely defensive strategy but it should be an option if the pressure is too strong during a certain moment. But okay, if you want to see your team loose right away.. fine with me! But dont be surprised if the world doesnt consider you to have a good team if you havent reached the Finals, EVEN if you played some good matches.
-33ker 0 Posted June 21, 2004 The worst mistake made in the game was substituting Robben by Bosvelt, that is bringing in a defender for a striker. They should have kept on attacking instead of locking themselfs in defense. That's exactly what the Portuguese did, and they won... You can't say that bringing in a defender for a striker is always wrong. That's football! You never know what will happen!

Postduifje 0 Posted June 21, 2004 dick advocaar makes nothing else but mistakes  Not true. The substitute was a failure, but $33ker is right. If it turned out for the good, we all would be happy about it. He did nothing wrong except that substitute, or maybe he could've influenced the way the defense played. The media is being way to harsh on him, give the guy a break and have faith we'll beat Latvia and Germany has his asses kicked by Czech-B
Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted June 21, 2004 Actually on german TV they werent harsh on him at all. What they said was that any judgement must take into consideration that we dont have the insight that a trainer does. All they said was that a trainer should be cautious to take a player out of a team that appears to be functioning well. Any interruption and the following recalibration is a risk-factor. And germany will probably get its ass kicked by Czeck-B, but that is okay. We never claimed we have a good team! But we can show you how NOT to get 3 counter-goals! Postduifje 0 Posted June 21, 2004 In holland they are way to harsh. Every random loonatic gets his face on tv yelling and insulting at Advocaat. This is not the right way to support your national team

This is not the right way to support your national team after loosing 5:0 against czech r. they will do that here in germany, too
Postduifje 0 Posted June 21, 2004 Well, if you get kicked out because of wortless play you can yell all you want. But this tournament isn't over yet. What the dutch coach and players could really use now are supporters that stand 100% behind them, instead of being a total bitch.

denoir 0 Posted June 21, 2004 Group B situation: [*]With one round of matches remaining in Group B no team has qualified or been eliminated from quarter-final contention. [*]Croatia need a win against England to be certain of progressing to the quarter-finals. Anything less than a victory will mean elimination for Otto Baric's men. [*]England need only a draw from their final group match against Croatia to clinch a quarter-final berth. Should a three way tie unfold with France, England and Switzerland all on four points, England will have a superior goal difference (+2) over France (now +1 but to decrease after projected defeat against Switzerland). [*]If England and Croatia draw, Switzerland need to beat France by at least three goals to advance. If England or Croatia win, a victory by any margin will do for the Swiss. [*]France need only a draw against Switzerland to reach the quarter-finals. Points: France: 4 England: 3 Croatia: 2 Switzerland:
