miles teg 1 Posted June 3, 2004 What really would be awesome is if someone did the P-61 Black Widow fighter aircraft. Â It was the first night fighter that used radar. Â It was often mistaken by enemy fighter pilots as a slow bomber but it actually was extremely fast, maneuverable, and had a reputation of being a very good interceptor aircraft as well as a good ground attack aircraft. A 3d model is available for it at: Â http://www.netwings.org/library/CFS2_Planes/American/index-5.html But I'm not sure what format the model is in, and of coarse if it can be ported to OFP, the original author would have to be contacted. Â Â Below are some pics that might be useful. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
da_ofp_man 0 Posted June 3, 2004 How did this "thing" fly fast It look like it had big air contumacy. Wast it mass manufactured??
bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Its was an amazing aircraft, seriously. One of the best fighter planes of world war II. But now Scud has given me permission to use the model and move it around, change bombs, or whatever is needed to make it real in the Korean War. But the thing is, I dont' have a ton of knowledge in all the aircraft in the Korean War. I was curious if any of you know if the P-38 was still being used widely in the Korean War or if it was already mainly phased out. ~Bmgarcangel

BraTTy 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Good stuff Scud, thank you for bringing us this plane ! I thought you had disappeared...any others in the works?
Scud 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Thanks Bratty, and thanks for your help direct or indirect on this and my other models. Good to see you doing the rounds again. Scud 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Quote[/b] ]bmgarcangel  But the thing is, I dont' have a ton of knowledge in all the aircraft in the Korean War. http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/air_power/kc.htm This is a good sight on K/war planes - should be all the info you need. By the way don't forget the O1 BirdDog much used there before heading to Nam. From memory there is a Sabre already out there somewhere. Which is why I decided on doing the F100 Super Sabre instead but thats more Nam. Also into a "Timber Terror" at the mo, but thats WWII.
BraTTy 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Maybe if you unblocked me from your PM you would have seen me more often  Unblocked? From PM...you mean MSN ? I reformatted and reinstalled XP and hadn't bothered to run MSN if thats what you mean.I feel that MSN is very medieval and the cause for much crashing.I don't run any chat programs actually. But we did have some BIF (Bohemeia Interactive Forums, lol)PMs lately I see looking back, and you did tell me some, sorry my memory fails on some stuff.Nice stuff , you have some islands
Scud 0 Posted June 4, 2004 oh yeah I was starting on Tarawa Atol but then someone else did it so I trash it.
bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Hey Scud Hell, the skyraider was also used in the KOREAN WAR!! How dare they say it isn't!! So then, is was the p38 phased out by the Korean war? thanks again for letting our mod use this. Â I was curious if you could make a special version of it just for us possibly? Â Also, I found one error in the plane. The gear doesn't come up all the time. OH HELL YES!! You should start after this like on a Sabre dude and a Mig-15 and also like a that one big propeller plane that bomber the shit out of Korea and Vietnam. ~Bmgarcangel
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted June 4, 2004 Also into a "Timber Terror" at the mo, but thats WWII. DeHavilland Mosquito? Great planes those. What versions you planning on doing? Thanks for the P38, it's an excellent addon, flies beautifully with both mouse and joystick. Good work all round.
Scud 0 Posted June 4, 2004 There were so many diff variants so I just making the standard bomber and fighter. Also there is not much on the net as far as pics Every pic you see the personal door is in a diff spot and other things like that, so I will keep it simple. bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 5, 2004 Hey So i just finished moving hte p-38 into our folders for our mod but now i have another problem. I get something in game that comes up when I use the p-38 that says: Quote[/b] ]Picture /scud_p38 Its like an error but I press Ok and everything else works fine the planes still works. Do you know what might cause this Scud? Also Scud, i'm having trouble finding out at all if it was used after WWII as anything else other then a recon plane... ~Bmgarcangel
Scud 0 Posted June 5, 2004 sounds like when changing folder name someone missed changing the pic bit in cpp. You prob dont have lil plane pic in the unit bar at bottom of screen. while I am here, I made up these fuel drums, kinda just for mood setting. Anyway they're not a must have of course but if ya int - get 'em at http://www.ofpbase.com/
bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 7, 2004 Could you help me fix this one and only error scud? Cause I can't find the fricken solution man..

bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 9, 2004 Ok...I don't think thats the problem because I also get a similar error whenever I start the plane flying in a mission, bassically the same thing but it has a few extra words added on. Here we go. <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">Picture /scud_p38/something.paa The something.paa is some tire texture thing but the thing is, the tire texture is still there so I don't know whats up. Curious, do I need to change directories in the scripts too if their is any? ~Bmgarcangel
Scud 0 Posted June 9, 2004 Yes you change folders then you will have to change path of all textures in P3D.
deathsai 0 Posted June 10, 2004 A beautiful, beautiful plane. All we need now are some 109's, 110's, and 190's to dogfight with! Maybe even a 262...

bmgarcangel 0 Posted June 11, 2004 Yes you change folders then you will have to change path of all textures in P3D. Thats the problem. I already changed the directories, i'm smart enough to do that But I still get the error...
