denoir 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Acoustic torpedos work on on fast moving targets only. So they are just good for warships travelling at high speed while they are not attracted by vessels running up to 15 knots. It depends on the version. A T-IV requires a 12 knot speed while the T-IX prototypes that I have now only require a speed of around 4 knots. So they are quite ok against slow-moving convoys as well. Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted May 6, 2005 I added new music wavs to the gramophone folder but it wont play them. Also, I didnt even find the option yet to chose an emblem.. or better.. into which folder do I need to put my own in?
theavonlady 2 Posted May 6, 2005 I added new music wavs to the gramophone folder but it wont play them. I think it only takes MP3s and OGGs. Quote[/b] ]Also, I didnt even find the option yet to chose an emblem.. I only received this option on the On-Base U-Boast Options screen after my 5th patrol. Quote[/b] ]or better.. into which folder do I need to put my own in? Yes. Once eligible, how do you replace the one selected in the game with a customized one? kevbaz 0 Posted May 6, 2005 D:\Program Files\Ubisoft\SilentHunterIII\data\Emblems\SubEmblems make a emblem 64 x 64 save as tga and drop it in that folder, when you have enough renown/experience click on "Specials" when looking at new equipment for your sub and they are in there Quote[/b] ]I added new music wavs to the gramophone folder but it wont play them. try saving them as .ogg and putting them in the music folder

Tons of original emblems available from here. The download link there is via the black cat emblem at the top of the page. 2. I don't think it's that easy. Even though the directory has dozens of emblem files, it only let me choose from a handful of them. So does SH3 automatically let you also chose from all unoficial TGA files placed in the folder? Colossus 2 Posted May 6, 2005 btw just read that its mp3 files for the gramaphone and it goes in the gramaphone folder :P I'm pretty sure I read that OGGs also work. The rest of the sounds in SH3 is ogg. so why shouldn't it work? I'm with Avon on this.

Winters 1 Posted May 6, 2005 I put together a pack of WW2 era music if anyone is interested, i can upload it to my ftp tonight. One thing about the gramophone, i have yet to see how i can turn up the volume on it. It plays at a very low level even with the .oggs i used in some WW2 OFP missions that played at a louder level. Anyone have any info on turning up the volume? I already have them at the highest settings from the options menu. Thanks
Colossus 2 Posted May 6, 2005 Reduce the volume on the other options and turn you volume up manually on you speakers (if you have that and not just headphones) It might just work.

Daddl 10 Posted May 7, 2005 Ok, so SH3 is protected by starforce. Now that didn't cause any problems on my old desktop where I was playing the game up to now. But now I'm thinking about installing it on my new (and much more powerfull) notebook. Only I want to be sure that I'll be able to get rid of the copy protection once I have uninstalled the game again later. Is there a way to ensure this, or should I rather keep the game on my desktop (to which my access will be very limited for the next few months)? I'd very much like to continue my campaign, but... Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted May 7, 2005 What I also noticed is to set the distance of the torpedos correctly. If the torpedo bounces off or goes below the ship then it will still explode right in time. You cant realy sink a ship with this emergency explosion all the time but you can definetly demobilise it! Take a look here, there's a link to a tool, that removes Starforce if there is something of it left after the deinstallation of the game. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x/a/tpc/f/954105331/m/9791049103/inc/-
