Icorp island teaser

Recommended Posts

What anim pack did that safe walk animation come from where they actually carry the weapons instead of have them slinged?

Looking d*mn fine Wilco.

I like the way the canopy seems really dense but the ground underneath looks relatively uncluttered. Should make it easier for the AI to move around while still looking like a jungle.

Cheers,

Cornhelium

I had an idea that many islands (well I think at least) should start doing a little bit of. At the waters edge there needs to be mangroves and other thick vegitation at some spots not allowing any passage through. Also make a texture that at the bottem it "wet" looking mud (dark brown) then it works itself to the grass, it gives a more natural effect like in a few parts of jean's normandy. Cant wait for this island, its gona rock. Hope this gives you a feesible idea of what tyou can do to make this island even more like the real thing. Also I Corp was mainly Army SF, Airbornce, and Rangers right? or was it regular infanty? I cant remember. Anyways good work all.

During the war they broke south vietnam up into areas, or Corps, (corps tactical zones) so they could organize the fighting in each region since there were no front lines etc.

ICorps was the northern most corps tactical zone with the Central Highlands in it (of 4 corps i think, tho ICorps, IICorps & III Corps are the most well known, i think there is a 4th one down far south) , and yes all regular joe soldiers fought there in ICorps too, not just SF troops etc.

They mostly fought NVA up there as they were pouring past the DMZ thru Laos.

USMC and US Army were stationed up in I Corps over the war, and some of the longest and toughest battles were in this area (Khe Sahn, Hue at Tet, Hamberger Hill, Lang Vei SF camp, everywhere in the Ashau Valley, Firebase Ripcord, etc...)

But the Central Highlands were in II Corps, not I corps. wink_o.gif

Here's a good topographical map site of most of S.E.A.

The term "Central Highlands" was used to describe a highland area of the western part of all II Corps stretching roughly from Ban Me Thout in Darlac Province north to Kontum Province and the southern border of I Corps. An area of approximately 5,400 square miles, it was sparsely populated, primarily by Montagnard tribesmen.

Recognized early by North Vietnamese Army (NVA) strategists as a key to the conquest of Vietnam, an NVA attempt to cut Vietnam in two in 1965 with an attack from Cambodian sanctuaries across the Central Highlands to the sea was foiled by the U.S. First Cavalry Division in the Battle of Ia Drang.</a>
