IceFire 0 Posted March 18, 2004 I have seen on other forums for games like Tribes2 that there are special nights in which all the members of a forum get together in a password locked server and play. So for example if this happened every Tuesday, every tuesday someone(the organiser) would post the password and time on these boards for the game that day. It would be a forum regular only game where everyone would be able to trust eachothers honesty and intelligence and friendliness and familiarity. It could be called something simple, like "OPF forum member night!". And it could be held on a certain day everyweek. Like Tuesday or Sunday. What do you think? As many as possible without overdoing the server, and decent pings. Â What is that about? Â 14-20? Â Even more? This sort of thing would be a great way for us to all to socialise in a game playing atmosphere outside the forums. Would be nice to play with other forum regulars. Â Most everyone is already familiar with everyone else on the forums. Â We could all play eachother and better get to know eachothers playing styles. Â Which we debate about enough. IceFire 0 Posted March 18, 2004 Joining a squad and what I am suggesting are two COMPLETELY different things. A squad is good for organized tactical coop gameplay. SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted March 18, 2004 The biggest problem to solve would be what time of the day to play. Blackdog had a server with mainly forum people in it. But it was 3am for me. So i never got to play there. Living in europe, i would prefear using a "GMT friendly time" (somewhere between 6 to 11 pm GMT in the evening). I vote Tuesdays, thats my ideal time to waste ... time. IceFire 0 Posted March 18, 2004 Ok, Tuesdays or Sundays sound good to me, either one. Both are days where one is not that busy. As for the time. I am thinking about late in the evening. That is a time most people should be able to play. So how about next tuesday or this coming sunday with a starting time of about 9-10 pm? What do you all think about that? Whoever hosts the server should probably have an excellent connection. I have very good connections too. I normally have like 20-50 pings in games of Americas Army, and am told that I have good pings from other players. I live in Maryland, US. On the eastcoast. I have Comcast CABLE internet. But the only problem is I don't know a thing about hosting ANYTHING. Maybe someone else can do it? Shrike? Or I could do it for the first time if someone could explain to me how. Ideas?
