Balschoiw 0 Posted February 18, 2004 No offense but it looks very "painty" same with Keg´s by the way.
Acecombat 0 Posted February 18, 2004 Wow we have one sky mod after another How about a co-op? Like llaumas look great too perhaps you two can share ?
sicilian 0 Posted February 18, 2004 No offense but it looks very "painty" same with Keg´s by the way. Yes the clouds look like a painting of any landscape painter, not like real clouds... But respect to your work...
drow 0 Posted February 18, 2004 looks good, but i have made one of these sky packs too, and i know that though your screens may be impressive, when you turn around in game, every direction you look you will see that same distinct cloud... you have to keep the clouds looking, undistinguishable (spelling???), so they dont appear to repeat so bad, the sky is tiled, 2 big tiles, so you will recognize shapes in the sky very easily, thus you need to make sky scapes very mono-tone so to speek. p.s. still looks good bro

But in-game it gave the sky a real "3D" look though, like there are layers of clouds. I think I'll take it out, and tone down the clouds in general so it doesn't look so "painted". Koolkid101 0 Posted February 18, 2004 For those custom skies do you hand draw them?
llauma 0 Posted February 18, 2004 For those custom skies do you hand draw them? No they use pics I would guess or some program that creates new skies.
Gollum1 0 Posted February 18, 2004 The first two look nice, but a tad unrealistic, while the two lower ones are great.
toadeater 0 Posted February 22, 2004 For those custom skies do you hand draw them? It's both hand drawn and from photos. I also tried using Bryce 3D and Terragen but those looked too computer-generated. Here's the updated version, I toned down the clouds and made it more like the original OFP sky. Still tweaking the colors, almost done:
thirtyg 0 Posted February 22, 2004 These look a lot better (although i liked the first ones as well). Any chance of getting more orange into the sunset pics. Is that even possible? I've always wanted something other than a pink sunset.
drow 0 Posted February 22, 2004 Go to your difficulty in ofp options and disable your aim cursor when you take screens maybe you know this already, but maybe you dont so i thought i would pass on this lil hint I was glad to hear from someone, somewhere... cant remember where. Sky looks pretty damn good man.

I've always wanted something other than a pink sunset. I still have the older version, I could release it later. I dunno how much more orange I could get the sunset, but the sky will definitely be darker than this preview when I finish tweaking the colors. Drow: ok, I'll have to remember that. Alfares 0 Posted February 29, 2004 This looks to be the sky I have been waiting for. Looks real good and has a nice atmosphere. Will it also be possible to install under Windows 98? since I and some other people use Windows 98 for OFP(I tried OFP for a year with Windows XP, nothing but problems and crashes, not anymore with Win98..talking about an upgrade..) Installing other skies under Win98 was impossible, at least for me, with the skies from Kegetys and LLauma.
Guest Posted February 29, 2004 No offense but it looks very "painty" same with Keg´s by the way. That's just the nature of paa files. It's damm hard to get it really good as paa doesn't support anywhere near the number of colors needed to make a totally realistic looking sky. These look about as good as it is possible to make skies in OFP.
AWorldWithoutWar 0 Posted February 29, 2004 looks great please relase it
VALKYRIE 0 Posted March 3, 2004 Looks really good, if its just two textures that make up the sky maybe you could use jpeg's surely it wouldn't lag worse than INQ's weapon pack witch needed to load lots of jpeg's depending on how many weapons were loaded in game, is that right or I'm I missing something. I'll be downloading ether way just a thought.
Guest Posted March 3, 2004 You are missing something The sky can only be done in paa files, with specific names. Anything else and it crashes.
swtx 42 Posted March 3, 2004 This looks rather nice....*insert cat whistle here* Can't wait to give it a look see
Hjaldar 0 Posted March 4, 2004 Could you please release the changed paa's in your sky pack for those who might want to put them in the Data.pbo? Can't wait until you release it! Great work!
