after the big success of the "baracken", we made mining vehicles and buildings.

now's a shed and some other useful buildings in production, maybe you'll get the control tower soon.

here you can discuss our planned/done addons.

if you have a good idea for an addon we can (maybe) make it...

You guys are the best building makers, I think it would be

awsome if you did a huge factory or dock addon like agent

smith did. I bet you guys could do an amazing city pack too.

another thing that would be cool to see from you guys is

a pack of custom base lights, but through scripting

you could connect them to a generator which could be used

to turn them on/off or be disabled when it is destroyed.

Or how about a guard post that could be configed like a

vehicle, and using a script it could detect approching vehicles

and decide if it should open the gate or sound an alarm. that

would be awsome! It should be a vehicle though so a unit

could be inside operating the gate. Also a you could make a

taller guard tower and use a script to attach a rotating search

light to it.

erm, you've the latest version of baracks? there's a little generator house, when you go next to it, you can switch off the lights... wink_o.gif

Your baracken pack is great. It's certainly one of the best building packs in OFP.

Since you do such nice work, I do have a suggestion for a future pack...

Please, please, please, please make some urban style buildings. I'm not talking about giant skyscrapers (a huge city wouldn't fit in OFP without a LOT of new statics.) I'm talking more about the type of buildings you'd see in any small/medium sized town's downtown area. 5 - 6 story brick buildings. Small concrete office buildings. Small appartment buildings. Things of that nature.

IMO, that would be the absolutely biggest boon to OFP building wise. There are a lot of maps out with some well laid out cities, but they look a bit ridiculous with the same two BIS buildings next to one another over and over again for 200 meters with the token two story house thrown in here and there, An urban pack of the quality of the baracken pack would redefine what's possible with urban areas in OFP.

Those would be cool, but I don't think the OFP AI could use them properly sad_o.gif . Personally, I'd like to see pack of high-quality bunkers.

A while ago there was a picture shown ( i think from some kinda vietnam mod or map maker ) from a destroyed 3-4 story building. Such buildings would be really great, big destroyed entrable buildings, exellent as sniper positions !

I m trying to dig up the pic to show what i mean.

Suggest you make an Airport pack containing a terminal, control tower, sheds, hangars, runways etc.etc.....

Yep those are the ones.

But the one i mean isnt shown here, it was a destroyed 3 or 4 story building completely entrable. Some buildings like that would rock.

Or the 8 story appartment from BIS completely entrable and a bit destroyed would be cool too.

I agree with the urban and industrial suggestions, the AGS packs, good as they are, clash a bit with the original BIS buildings, as well as the Mapfact ones.

Just to finish off, I thought I'd kiss some arse and say that the barracks and the mining buildings are bloody brilliant biggrin_o.gif

I'm not thinking about rusian huts.

I think some nice wester family houses with garage...etc

They needn't any working doors or toilets wink_o.gif

Just static objects...

And maybe you'll finish this great control tower...

It should be pointed out, that the mapfact guys are not mainly Addonmakers, but Missionmakers and the make the best fuckin ofp missions I've ever played!

Looks very nice. I love the roving searchlight idea. Maybe you could set it so that if you got caught in the beam at night it alerted the enemy to your presence. Would make spec ops missions tense and exciting. smile_o.gif

Bunkers look nice but the problem is that the AI cannot use them as they have no concept of hiding behind hard cover and popping out to fire their weapons. One idea I had would be to create proxy positions inside such bunkers so you could order your men into predetermined positions such as crouched behind a wall etc much as you would order them to get in an M2 machine gun. I don't know if this would allow them to still use their personal weapons though. Maybe they could somehow be 'locked' in position so they could still fire smallarms but not run off or go prone when the shooting started. Just a thought anyway. smile_o.gif

I made it with Gebadeue2, a pack of separate building blocks. It's a bitch to do it right, I should know. You must first decide what terrain detail to use, then when you've selected that central position, you start to place buildings with a fairly simple formula, alt-tab until your left hand is stuck in a C like position, and you got something like that, which can be simply copypasted to another central position. Well that's more like a platoon quarters, but with bis stuff and this, you can do miracles. And the objects are very well designed, unlike some BIS objects with a central point which isn't in the center, which pisses me off. Also the AI can shoot through windows and geo lods seem to be very accurate.

My only gripe with them is that they are a bit pale and stand out a bit when not camoflaged. Ofcourse that's the best way of offering them as it's easy to create bushes on them, but camoflaged variants might be nice.

/edit: ah, ok, now i see. yes, the gebäude addon was a good idea of jörg, cos you can make thousand of simple houses with it. it's just a bit too much work doing that...

On see Drilling Island(Oil), Some new buildings for the Bunker Pack; Small Medical Building, Weapon Storage, Food Supply(fridge), Latrine, and the Shit house biggrin_o.gif couple of my ideas:D
