Evil Weasel 0 Posted January 21, 2004 As far as I know there is no actual landing craft(US or otherwise) avaliable.The nearest thing is a Tarawara(spelling?) class assault ship which can launch helicopters and has an internal dock for LAAV's etc... I don't have a download link to hand but if you search on OFP.cz or OFPNEWS you should find it. I don't remember seeing any screenshots of one's being developed,but who knows when it comes to OFP It's not tarawa class...it's the USS Tarawa and it is used for CH-46, UH-1N, AH-1w and CH53E's for MEU's. Seems interesting, so you don't mean the USS Ashland. Who knows what Evil Weasel means and who got it. Thought it looked a bit like an aircraft carrier ,it got a landing dock and you can land harriers and choppers on it (since it has no catapults). Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I've got a couple of back-up cd's from before my harddrive crash which I'll check out when I get back from work tonight to see if  I can find the ship I'm thinking off. I've tried to find it on the Johnny Lump addon directory site but it seems to be down at the moment. If it turns out to be the U.S.S. BTW, took a look on JohnnyLump's Militaria - Webpage and found a DL-Link for a Helicopter Carrier (USS Saipan, LHA-2 [helicopter carrier]). Sadly the DL-Link didn't work for me right now, so i cannot say anything about that ship . There are some other interesting ships, too. Perhaps the right one for you Piece! Nice idea since these carriers have a lot of different aspects (commanding role, base, amphibious landings and continue) Usable for all kinds of stuff! MOD and addon makers react! miles teg 1 Posted January 22, 2004 I just wanted to add that there was also a cool Russian hovercraft made quite awhile back. It should be on ofp.info. The name started with a Z. I remember it looked quite impressive seeing it come up to the shore to drop off troops. It also a nice 30mm cannon for self defense. I believe it was based off of an actual Russian military hovercraft used for landing large numbers of troops and tanks. Unfortunately it doesn't hold vehicles but perhaps someone can upgrade it to do that. That would be awesome for the RHS tanks and Suchey's Russian Marines.
