Here's the scoop: It will have a 4.5-inch, 480x272 pixel widescreen display, built-in 802.11b, 7.1 channel Dolby surround sound, and maybe even cellphone capabilities, play video and MP3 files, and will use special 2.4-inch, 1.8GB "Universal Media Discs." Sony exec Ken Kutargi emphasizes that the final product will look different than the concept image, and that the PSP won't be just one device, but a system of related devices depending on what consumers want to do with theirs. Also, Sony claims they'll be coming out with a $60 competitor to the iPod next year, which we'll have to see to believe. kegetys 2 Posted January 15, 2004 I wonder if it will be possible to run any software on that thing from memory cards or something... If not, then it will propably be just another expensive "fun for a while" toy. With custom software and some other features (GSM, GPRS, etc) it might be a nice gadget. As of now i have C64, Amiga, GBC, Super Nintendo & Mega Drive emulators aswell as the homebrew ports of Doom, Duke3d and Quake .. just to name a few. Soonish, if that custom FW update won´t brick it i´ll also be playing my old PS1 games again Maybe we can use this thread to share some knowledge.

mr burns 132 Posted January 1, 2007 Yes, so why did you dig it up? Maybe we can use this thread to share some knowledge. btw. i think it´s ok with the mods to dig up old threads if there´s something significant to add. And what could be more significant than the PSP being released edit: Tekken, 2xAcecombat, MoH

EiZei 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Im lovin' my PSP as well. (got a new one for 98 euros, quite a bargain) Im also surprised how well metal gear portable ops plays considering that PSP's controls are kinda crappy.
mr burns 132 Posted January 1, 2007 It wasn't released today right? EDIT: So what's the knowledge to share? I don't really see it :/ Nope, but it also wasn´t discussed here since the release. Why are you posting here anyway if you don´t like the topic? Nice price eizei, where did you buy it? Just in case i brick mine.. Does MG play like the first part on PS1 and would you recommend it? Haven´t ever touched one of the sequels.
EiZei 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Nice price eizei, where did you buy it? Just in case i brick mine.. It was one of those "limited 100" type of deals a certain large finnish computing retailer was doing when they opened a new store. Quote[/b] ]Does MG play like the first part on PS1 and would you recommend it? Haven´t ever touched one of the sequels. Have'nt played MGS1 in a while but I recall it being quite similar enough. And I would recommend it. Now if they would bother to make a splinter cell with workable controls for PSP..
