miles teg 1 Posted January 6, 2004 AAAAAAAAARRRG!!!! Â Ok first off... PLEASE DON'T USE INSTALLERS!!!! Â They clutter up my registry and they do NOTHING to make installing the addons any easier. SECOND- Â All it did was install an encrypted .rar file in my addons directory. Â It's kinda hard to test out the addon if the bloody thing is password protected so that I can't even un-RAR it. Â The readme doesn't do me much good either cuz it's in Russian only. Just make ONE .rar file of just the necessary .pbo's (not in a folder please) and a readme file along with it. Â This way people can un-rar it directly into their addons folder without having to go into that directory and cut and paste it OUT of the folder and into the addons folder. Â It just boggles my mind that so many addon makers can't figure this out or prefer little pretty pictures on their installers. I apologize if I'm being a bit harsh...I'm just frustrated because otherwise this looks like a beautiful addon... at least from the pictures. Â (sigh) Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
desantnik 0 Posted January 6, 2004 meh, dem Russkies at it again. They said to look for the password in the news about it on FLashpoint.ru and I have no clue what that means either.
smogmorph 0 Posted January 6, 2004 Wow... wow.. don't know where to begin.. Never EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER use installers unless it's something big or complicated like Hisky and FDF mod. Enter password in order to extract the files? Not such a good idea... And even if the password is in the readme, who would know? It's all written in russian. The plane itself looks very good and I can't wait til' someone cracks the code and releases it in a (!!!ZIP!!!) file.

Heatseeker 0 Posted January 6, 2004 Wow, and just for one unit, imagine what will be like to install the whole mod , instaler+readme in russian+hidden password= .
Blake 0 Posted January 6, 2004 If you're making a mod why release stuff separately...
r1c0cH3T 0 Posted January 6, 2004 I'm not bothering with WWII stuff, but try obvious passes like: flashpoint.ru and L45 and Strinder.

void_false 1 Posted January 6, 2004 What a great addon and what a poor mission to play it You know... I noticed interesting thing. People release excellent addons, but poor missions (or campaigns). Only FDF made both 100% (respect ) For example BAS. Great units and island, but campaign isn't 100% good. No sound for example. And not very exciting gameplay (IMhO). I just dont understand the reason. People implement such stuff as open/close cocpit, but can't make a sound for their mission
norsu 180 Posted January 6, 2004 The reason for that could be that many addon makers don't know how to make perfect missions (with intros, new sounds etc.), but they know how to make great addons . And thus they leave mission making to rest of community.
Donnervogel 0 Posted January 6, 2004 For example BAS. Great units and island, but campaign isn't 100% good. No sound for example. And not very exciting gameplay (IMhO). What do you mean with "no sound" in BAS campaign? They have original music (not stolen or illegal) made by cassie there.

And not very exciting gameplay (IMhO) I could call the BAS campaign many things, but boring isn't one of them. It's very entertaining (Especially the mission in Ixtlan). Also, the campaign was made by Nagual, BAS's master mission maker. He'd just spent a year on Tonal, and I believe that he said the campaign was quickly made (Over a weekend I think ). Could you make a campaign like that over a short amount of time?
Gollum1 0 Posted January 6, 2004 He'd just spent a year on Tonal, and I believe that he said the campaign was quickly made (Over a weekend I think ). Could you make a campaign like that over a short amount of time? It's a good campaign, but it doesn't get any better because it has been over a weekend. Even though it is good, IMHO there are better campaigns, like the BIS and FDF ones. Voice acting adds a hell of a lot to a campaign. Well, this too OT...the planes are good, but I would advise you to release all your addons at once with the mod (FDF, I44), instead of releasing a big mess of different units and patches for them. m21man 0 Posted January 6, 2004 As Nagual said, the missions were just quickies, and you should be glad that you got any at all. Obviously FDF and BIS campaigns are better, much larger amounts of time were spent on them. BTW - Nice addon
