mr burns 132 Posted December 22, 2003 Ähem ... (S.Africa from Page 1 ??) ok, before this is considered spam, i add Croatio to the list: APS 95 It was meant to replace the aging M70 assault rifle but due to lack of money the rearming wasn´t completed. APs 95 is basically a licensed copy of zthe Galil and has seen some action in 1995 Croatia Conflict. @Walker: the only thing i ever shot with was a spudgun ... nothing comparable to lrifles, so i guess my opinion is not that important. and sorry for the late reply

RapThor85 0 Posted December 23, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Also do the Swiss still let the serviceman take the wepon to his home Yes they do. Every swiss who makes his service and wants it, can get a Pe90 at home. The reason is because Swiss have to do 'obligatory shootings' every year. In addition of their days of service. I'm not sure but I believe the Pe90 is a modified version of the Sig551, exclusively for the Swiss Army.
Gollum1 0 Posted December 23, 2003 I read in Time magazine that one of the reasons for Swiss reservists having ARs in their homes was that since Switzerland is such a small country, in case of an invasion the country would quickly be swarming with enemies and a reservist must be able to fight his way to his group's gathering point. Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted December 23, 2003 I read in Time magazine that one of the reasons for Swiss reservists having ARs in their homes was that since Switzerland is such a small country, in case of an invasion the country would quickly be swarming with enemies and a reservist must be able to fight his way to his group's gathering point. They would not swarm the enemy but retreat into the refuge high up in the mountains. You wouldnt believe how many restricted areas you find up there. And the training is not only on an annual basis but includes more than just shooting training!

Gollum1 0 Posted December 24, 2003 @Albert: You misunderstood, I said the country would be full of enemies (=swarming with them), and therefore a reservist must be armed for said retreat. Great that you mentioned the Tavor, rufusmac. Here's some more info and pics: Tavor AR The Basic version of the Tavor: The Micro version of the Tavor:

Assault (CAN) 1 Posted December 24, 2003 Quote[/b] ]Every swiss who makes his service and wants it, can get a Pe90 at home. Or any Canadian who wants to fork out $3000(CDN) cash and pay the $25 registration fee . Owning a Pe90 isn't all that hard to do in Canada. Tyler
RapThor85 0 Posted December 24, 2003 In fact we can get the AR at home, but it's always the property of the army. We have to return it (or to buy it) when we have no more obligation of service. Quote[/b] ]Hey RapThor are there F-5 Tiger in your avatar? yes it's the patch of the swiss patrol and they have Tigers. Â
