I would so much rather have a very nicely made and nicely working ofp2 than no screenshots.

guys 1 year is going to fly by. And within that 1 year pictures will be shown ETC.

It might take 1 year for OFP to be released, but it's gonna be one hyped and hell of a 1 year to wait for OFP2...

Jeez...maybe they haven't even coded the beginnings of a game environment yet!? rock.gif

If you react that strongly just because you don't get a couple of screenshots of a computer game, it's your own fault. Honestly...without BIS OFP2 wouldn't even exist.

Be patient people. Let them take their time.

Remember, the more time they take the more bugs they can fix.

Remember how buggy OPF was? What if they took their time to test and eliminate all of them before releasing it. That way we won't have a hundred people posting on the forums the day it comes out complaining that the game doesn't work.

The time definitely goes by quicker if you join a mod. Then it's a race to see if you can get your mod out before OFP 2 comes out tounge_o.gif .

Be patient. Waiting for OFP 2 is like the waiting time for each of The Lord of the Rings Movies. It was/is kinda hard to endure, but on the other hand you`re happy because you`re sure that you won`t be disappointed by the final result. tounge_o.gif

I'd like to repeat the "Be patient" statements from previous replies.

Good things come to those who wait...ESPECIALLY when it comes to being a gamer.   Examples:

Tenchu on Playstation-

A co-worker in the videogame store I worked at was telling me about this kick-ass game from Japan called Tenchu.  A game in which you play a ninja in feudal Japan and assassinate people.   YOu hide in the shadows, use cool ninja gadgets and magic, and do insane kill moves on hapless guards...creating gushing arterial spurts.   I knew I wanted this game!!  But my friend spent 150 bucks importing the Japanese copy and 20 bucks having his Playstation modified to play it.  I said "If its such a cool game, I'll be patient and wait for an American release"   Much to my friends dismay, and boosting my ego, an American version of tenchu was released with many improvements (More levels, cleaned up graphics, english translations so I can actually follow the story, more gadgets) and it only cost me 50 bucks!!!

HALF-LIFE:

I read about Half-Life in a magazine in 1997.  I was convinced that because of the AI and new ideas, this game would be fantastic.   I waited and followed the progress for YEARS until the game was finally released..I waited an AGONIZING 2 and a half years   But it was worth it, Half-life was everything we had hoped it would be.

So if BIS is going to take their sweet time in making and polishing OFP2, LET THEM.  I've noticed that whenever a game developer replies to the "when" question with a cryptic "Next Year" or "It's done when it's done", their games usually end up being worth the wait.

SHOW PATIENCE AND FAITH, AND YE SHALL REAP THE REWARDS LIKE MANA FROM HEAVEN..

CAN I GET AN AMEN!!!!!!!

I SAID..CAN I GET AN AMEN!!!!!!!!

They did. But personally, I'd assume that the graphics quality in OFP II will make anything made for OFP look mediocre at best. I think BIS will also be changing/adding onto the scripting system, which would make the old scripts obsolete.

it is my personal impression that BIS stated something like 'we will help conversion of OFP1 addons into OFP2'

not a definite yes, but definitely not abandoning the user-made addons.
