jaenak 0 Posted November 26, 2003 As I was playing the winter islands I've downloaded I got to thinking, one thing that would add so much to the game play would be if someone was to make a snowmobile vehicle addon. Â The snowmobile in conjunction with the winter islands would be really awesome! Â Just an idea for anyone that has the time and capabilities as well as resources. edc 0 Posted November 26, 2003 I belive someone did make a snowmobile a while back. Â Let me try and find it at ofp.info. edit: http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?showthis=2958
jaenak 0 Posted November 26, 2003 Thanx for the link. I tried it out and its very unstable. Kinda underpowered and I've flipped it end over end twice now but if you're careful, its really cool. Thanks again!

Shadow NX 1 Posted November 26, 2003 Looks like a old Aerosan, they were build for mountain troops and border guard units
GoOB 0 Posted November 26, 2003 Yup it is an Aerosan, but the ones I have seen are usually alot lower than the one decipted on that picture. But I recollect having seen a similar one before in a diorama of some sort. It wouldn't happen to be a part of the FDF mod now would it? As I heard the Ruskies (and Finns) used these during the winter war.

GoOB 0 Posted November 26, 2003 It is quite a cool piece of equipment, I have something similar (but of course it is home made) At my country home, it is awesome to manouver it on stiff ice on a -30 degree morning

Not used today, more of an experiment by the Russians... some of you may recall that this was in one of the missions in the game 'Soviet Strike'

Shadow NX 1 Posted November 27, 2003 Shows how well informed you are... Â The Russians dont have much money but the have very good scientists with a lot of ideas... If BIS used real stats the CWC campaign would have ended at one of the First missions when you had to withdraw cause some T-80BVs were rolling in
bmgarcangel 0 Posted November 27, 2003 You mean the 1985 campaign??? Well, perhaps the t80's hadn't arrived fully in force yet........plus the cobra was hanging out in the first mission and having fun
joltan 0 Posted November 27, 2003 This sled addon is made by Joe Lemmonade. It's quite cool and fits great to those large snow islands like Winter Kodiak.

Cobras could be shot down in an instant by a coax machine gun on the top of the turret of a russian tank. Many were shot down in vietnam by small arms fire because of light armor on the chopper.
