33, in dismal midwestern town finishing dissertation on medieval metaphysics. I've spent many years of my life in various parts of Europe and the mediterranean screwing around on some Government's dime (varies according to region). Now I just have to finish this damn thing and get a real job.

This week I have to grade 100 papers, mostly ill-conceived descriptions of 5th-C BCE pedarasty with some on the black death, and send out three articles: one on fourteenth-century hylomorphic theory and the crucial difference between a Greek-Latin and a Greek-Arabic-Latin translation, one on the mechanics of cognizing the very essence God (actually, it's a Latin text I'm editing), and one (in Italian) on the only sex act in history that Catholics believe wasn't dirty.

And speaking of songs.....

We played this song 2 years ago. It was the best song that we or in the school history, has been played there. In the song, we arranged 6 drums around the audience. You may not hear the effect but it sounded like a helicopter flyed over your head and landed on the stage. It was interesting of how many Korean war veterans were in the audience Around 6:00 into the song, the percusion section got to play the hell out of the drums and make it sound like gunfire. You can kinda hear it in the backround but ours was......well.....louder.

I really suggest you listen to it and if there is any school band that wants to blow the socks off their audience, this is the song.....
