Thud_and_Blunder 0 Posted February 21, 2004 Very much looking forward to this. Will it really have GPMG, as shown in your last pic? The sole reason I ask is that I only ever saw it with the Browning (M1919, I think...) .30" MG. Although TOW did exist around the time the Ferret was in service, the Mk2 carried Vigilant (as shown in the photo) while the Mk5 Big-Wheeler had Swingfire. SWIFT88 0 Posted February 21, 2004 apparently so...... my advisors from UKF said there was a GPMG version. maybe they where ranting on about the mk1 or 2 with the  gpmg on that as for the TOW version i wasnt sure what missile it was so i said it was a TOW, thanks very much for putting me straight..... I was just wondering if this great addon had been orphaned again, or if someone was still spending a little time on it. This model has been around for a long time now. I wonder if this model holds the record for longest time worked on (It would porbably be a race between this one and the TMMCM bikes for this category) or most people that have touched it? DeLiltMon 0 Posted February 21, 2004 The Ferret entered service in the 50s and was finally retired in the early 90s. It was originally fitted with a .30cal mg but at some point in it's 40 year service it was replaced with the GPMG. Oberon's original model is fitted with the .30cal so there will be a 30cal version, We just swapped it for the UKF GPMG to create a late service version as well. Sigma-6 29 Posted February 24, 2004 I certainly hope that whoever is working on this now (UKF) had the version with the full set of LODs  (minus the fact that it only has one Resolution LOD) and the working driver's hatch. . . if not, I have it. . . it's up to the last point where I was working on it. stevevcb 3 Posted February 25, 2004 Regarding the .30/GPMG thing, if it's any help, my old man drove one around Cyprus in the 70's and all the Ferrets (ones with turrets) in his unit had mounted Brownings.
