nycgamer 0 Posted September 30, 2003 Er, um, I mean collection.  I recently added OPF to my rapidly growing arsenal of shooting games.  This is fast becoming my favorite genre and I’m now completely obsessed with owning all of the best shooters out there.  There are a few that I am considering: 1. Dead To Rights (http://www.deadtorights.com/) ~ this is going to be re-released for about 20 bucks as a “classic†of shooters and is said to be similar to Max Payne.  They’re also porting it to PC, but I think I want the Xbox version of this. 2. Half-Life (http://half-life.sierra.com/) ~ I'm already excited about HL2 just from reading about it.. But I never played the original on console or PC. 3. No One Lives Forever 2 (http://nolf2.sierra.com/) ~ this is only for PC right now.  I wasn’t that impressed by the first NOLF on PS2, but I’m thinking that the PC sequel will have much better graphics. So those are the three I’m looking at right now.  Any suggestions?

Badgerboy 0 Posted October 1, 2003 Quote[/b] ]2. Half-Life (http://half-life.sierra.com/) ~ I'm already excited about HL2 just from reading about it.. But I never played the original on console or PC. Madness! You can pick up Half Life and all its expansions for very little money these days, and its bloody fantastic. You really are missing out if you have not played it. (I just played through it and the expansions last week (Again! ), in readiness of HL2. Then they delayed it the bastards! )
Warin 0 Posted October 1, 2003 2. Half-Life (http://half-life.sierra.com/) ~ I'm already excited about HL2 just from reading about it.. But I never played the original on console or PC. You've never played half life?!? run out now. Get it. It is still better than 90% of the crap that gets released. It revolutionized the way that a game could tell a story. It also scared the living crap out of me the first time a head crap leapt, and NO other game has managed to do it quite like that. OFP came close the first time I played After Montignac, and heard soldiers moving arouns, searching for me. But that was more heightened awareness than fright! nycgamer 0 Posted October 2, 2003 Badgerboy, they delayed HL2? For how long? Will it still be out before Christmas? Dauragon, Dead To Rights is a good game isn't it? I mean, despite the fact that you're saying it doesn't necessarily offer anything 'new', would you still say it's worth playing? I've heard a lot of good things about it. It gets compared to Max Payne a lot, but some people think it actually has more to offer in some areas than Max Payne. Alright, I'm just going to get all three of these then. I've heard great things about all three of them, so why not just get them all. Besides, with Christmas coming up, anything I can't get for myself, well... Santa will pick up the rest! The Frenchman 0 Posted October 3, 2003 NO other game has managed to do it quite like that. What do you mean? The game Tresspasser had very advanced AI and scared the crap out of me, especially the last part with the helicopter and dont forget the part with the Alpha raptor. The raptor bit my 2X4 and threw it away. Â And noone mentioned MGS?
Baron Hurlothrumbo IIX 0 Posted October 3, 2003 Oh yeah, Trespasser revolutionised realistic physics + sound engines. The game wasn't particularly good but you could do some very entertaining things (like playing 'smack the T rex on the nose and run away')

Frisbee 0 Posted October 3, 2003 NOLF1&2 where great games imho,i had great fun. Great satire, stealth or all out blasting and the actual choice between those two and some great levels. System Shock2 is a FPS/RPG hybrid, and a very good game, excellent plot and great gameplay. And i do agree on the half life bit,you have to play it.
