Chaos, Tactician, Terox, Zinco, and I all used to be regulars on Stoner's House of Pancakes. There were a lot more regulars back in 'the good old days'. We always played One Road, Thinly Spread, and occasionally Tactician made a new C&H map for us....

Then Plazmoid introduced CTI to us all. Gee, it was good at first... but then day by day... it got worse... every day it seemed like we lost another player that used to be on every day.

I never play on Stoners anymore.

It's very sad, actually... now I see a bunch of noname losers on the server always playing CTI, day and night, such a waste of such a once-great server..

It was the first OFP server I had ever played on... I had wished it to be the last, but unfortunately... it won't be.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Come to the Zeus addon server my friend. They play nothing but OP:Frenchpoint and BAS Coop games and the occasional C&H.

Indeed, thems were the days. The admins really ought to take the server back and force a devolution to C&H

Well i am still an admin on SHoP and i say viva la revolution.

i might just remote in and delete those cti maps. the problem is interest in ofp took a big dive before sti came around and that is why they started playing cti.....it was something different. plaz went bonkers because he is a script nut and the scripting in it is awsome.

they would be great maps for a 30 on 30 squad match, but we have no servers that can handle that. WarGames is trying to start a cti league. That would really be the best place to play it.

As far as SHoP unfortunetely if u put a c&h map up noone joins. u have to put up a CQB or CTI to get anyone to join.

For me the funnest is a mix of C&H CTF and CQB. those are best for the number of players a server usually has and can handle. and the occasional coop.

Zeus standard no longer has CTI, it nearly wrecked the community.

Leave it do dedicated cti servers, bring back 15 v 15 battles of 30 mins each

I like the idea of CTI but since the games are usually about 2-4 hours long it gets really lame waiting. But if you have a good amount of people and the right type of people it's more fun then anything else.

Capture The Island. The goal is to destroy the enemy HQ and all the buildings. You get money from capturing towns from FIA rebels. You use that money to buy troops, helicopters and tanks.

I wish a server would host plane frenzy  I haven't played that in a year

I saw this on one on a server but I forgot the server's name and it was in progress. Then I asked if they could play this map again so I could see how it worked but they said it was boring and went off to play more CTF's that are uneven for east (since for some stupid reason the West always wins.     ) And when I ask if we could play Return to Eden, they say "Thats an oldie". Of course its an oldie, it came with CWC!!!!!!!!!!!              

And I also wish that more servers would have the Nogova Virus. I am preaching the word to the DM and CTI players of fun and "relaxation" of shooting zombies and so far they are interested. It should be a staple mission in each server!

Don't bring back the "good old days" of SHOP ,personally i played a lot on SHOP and really i hated most of the players that played on it ,mostly because guys like Terox ,Daywalker and many other SHOP guys always had to play toghether as a hardend vet team against all the other peeps in the server ,with the result that new players comming to the server always had kinf-da hatefull games ,as most of the Shop players wern't that shameless that they wouldn't spawn kill for score ,in fact they did it in many occasion's ,and generally chose maps that fitted their goal of that sort of camping.

The only way you could like SHOP was if you were a part of the regular's ,the so called vet's.And so they believe they had a community their ,those 15-20 regulars that used to win about every game as they chose maps and teams so that they would win.Fact is that many people hated SHOP and it's people ,i only could apriciatte it somewhat later on when i could actually kill some to a lot of these guys on my own.

Another thing i have to complain about the "good old Shop days" was the arrogance of many of the moderator's on that server.They were rude ,banned people for virtually nothing ,kicked people for spawncamping while they were doing it themself's and teamkilled players when they were using "their" helicopter.It was like they thought they were the god's of OFP play.

I myself play MP Ofp for over years now ,and am a hardend vet who can kill most other hardened vets.I played on many server's and made many friend's over time.I surely didn't need SHOP for making buddy's .And i can tell you i made many buddy's in actual CTI game's ,in fact there has been a long period of where i used to go to one server almost every day to play CTI there because i had many friend's there ,Guys maybe not that known to the Shop players here ,but rest assure there are more server's who have regullar's of vet's who constantly play games of theyre liking ,like CTF ,C&H ,COOP or CTI.There are so many server's out there who have regular's ,of all nationality's.Maybe you Shop guys are only to nostalgic to youre good old days to see that CTI at place's actually promote's commoradrie.

Though i think Shop more or less died because of Zeus and the move of many of the regular's from Shop to Zeus to play addon's like Seb Nam.

I was an admin on shop for a long time and i understand your point. i know that i never kicked or banned anyone without a VERY good reason.

shop did run for a long time without the regs all being on east because there really weren't that many regs. later as we all got to know eachother and were on teamspeak it was as you say alot. we did try to split it up to make it fairer but that was hard. the idea was never to beat up on the other team it was just that it was alot funner to be on the same team as your buds and be on ts. so it was really hard to get the regs to move over. we did make a concerted effort to do it though. i knew before i tried that you can't recreate the past, it was just that we has alot of goods games back then, before regs and after.

i think this thread started because alot of us don't like the game play style of cti. and the fact that it last 2hrs when it takes long enuf just to get into a 30 min map. has nothing to do with the people. the nostaglia comes from the fact that interest in ofp is way down from what it was.

CTI is very fun mission, it's the best OFP MP mission I've played. OFP shows once again for CS nerds that this game is not about AIM-skills or speed, it's about tactics - pure and clean tactics.

I love this mission because I kick a lot of ass in it! The most players "follow the group", I don't. I "build" my own camp with ambulance and ammo truck. Then I take over small towns, alone with my spetsnaz soldiers. After that, I destroy enemy convois and towns using tactics of chechen rebels.

Once I destroyed 2 M1A1's and two "5truck" loaded with people and ammo - with just two satchel charges!! Lol at them.

(In case you want to know, the enemy never found me!)
