sanctuary 19 Posted July 3, 2003 A music that i find perfect to describe a sadness feeling , after a battle ended is Adagio - Samuel Barber (for people that have no idea of what is it or who is Barber , you can hear this music too in the introduction of Homeworld videogame when you leave your planet)
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 3, 2003 (for people that have no idea of what is it or who is Barber , you can hear this music too in the introduction of Homeworld videogame when you leave your planet) They all ready used that one in Platoon lol
ran 0 Posted July 3, 2003 there has been a techno version of the barber's adagio for the strings made by William Orbit
ran 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Rammstein ("Links" and "Feuer Frei" springs to mind) Ich will , Adios , Rein raus and Du hast are good too
DracoPaladore 0 Posted July 3, 2003 A music that i find perfect to describe a sadness feeling , after a battle ended is Adagio - Samuel Barber (for people that have no idea of what is it or who is Barber , you can hear this music too in the introduction of Homeworld videogame when you leave your planet) Actually, its full name is Adagio for Strings. You can also get a choir version, which in my opinion makes it sound more dramatic. If you havn't played Homeworld, you can also hear this song in several parts of Platoon(Most noticible is the soldier scene falling on his knees, etc.)
-TU--33ker 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Rammstein ("Links" and "Feuer Frei" springs to mind) Ich will , Adios , Rein raus and Du hast are good too If you're into German rock music and want a really good war song, try "Bomberpilot" by Böhse Onkelz.
ran 0 Posted July 3, 2003 but if you want songs for OFP cutscene , old 60's and 70's rock is great from the Beach Boys to the Doors and Jimi Hendrix and a Guy called Pen of Chaos made a sightly modified version of the Song of the plains by the red army choir for the Phoenix Reborn CS minimovie , it's pretty nice also , there's a song by Jean Jacques Goldman called "Rouge" and a part of the song is sung in russian by the red army choir but to make it short , a lot of the red army choir songs are great i like the sacred war by the alexandrov red army choir (hmm not sure how the choir is calledà what else .... i think that's all i can give as advice

If you havn't played Homeworld, you can also hear this song in several parts of Platoon(Most noticible is the soldier scene falling on his knees, etc.) I didnt remember the Barber's adagio was present in Platoon , ok : i saw this movie only one time in my life, years and years ago Time for watching it a second time i think ;) Between the string and the choir version , my preference goes for the choir one , there is more feeling in it and it seems more deep. A great music , that gives a lot of atmosphere to describe a specific situation there has been a techno version of the barber's adagio for the strings made by William Orbit I will try to find this somewhere , i always hated techno and rap musics, maybe there is a chance this one can make me to reconsider my position , even if i highly doubt it
Major Gripe 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Barbers Adagio for Strings rmx by William Orbit is good but it gets a bit boring so you wouldn't want to replay the mission anytime soon. What about Holst's 'Mars' from the Planets suite, you can't get more atmospheric war music!
Bernadotte 0 Posted July 4, 2003 What about Holst's 'Mars' from the Planets suite, you can't get more atmospheric war music! Great idea... But my first choice would still be U2's Bullet the Blue Sky. Can you beat these lyrics for a 50-man assault: Quote[/b] ]In the howling wind comes a stinging rainSee it driving nails Into the souls on the tree of pain From the firefly, a red orange glow See the face of fear Running scared in the valley below Bullet the blue sky Bullet the blue In the locust wind comes a rattle and hum Jacob wrestled the angel And the angel was overcome You plant a demon seed You raise a flower of fire See them burning crosses See the flames higher and higher Bullet the blue sky Bullet the blue This guy comes up to me His face red like a rose on a thorn bush Like all the colors of a royal flush And he's peeling off those dollar bills Slapping them down One hundred, two hundred And I can see those fighter planes And I can see those fighter planes Across the mud huts where the children sleep Through the alleys of a quiet city street You take the staircase to the first floor Turn the key and slowly unlock the door As a man breathes into a saxophone And through the walls you hear the city groan Outside is America Outside is America Across the field you see the sky ripped open See the rain through a gaping wound Pounding on the women and children Who run Into the arms Of America
FSPilot 0 Posted July 4, 2003 POD also did a version of that song.
Assault (CAN) 1 Posted July 4, 2003 When I think of an armoured assault I always think of AC/DC. Try "Hard as a Rock" Check out strathconas.ca, go to the video section and download "C Sqn video from 2002". It takes a while to download, but it plays AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" along with regimental footage. There is some nice armoured vehicle shots about halfway through. P.S., Balschoiw, I like your taste in music. Tyler
