Longinius that's a great movie, but it's not cliche enough. You do wan't to sell it to the masses don't you? Where's the black dude? That's the only flaw I found, but you gotta have the black dude in it.

Oh, oh, and Steve Buscemi as the half mad, transvestite artillery gunner!!

nah , for that , there's Hugo Weaving , he's already got some experience as travestite in the desert if you see what i mean

and on the subject of fire support , we could have will smith as F15 pilot

we could also have bruce willys as .... i don't know , but his name would look could on the poster

Yes, but if it's Will Smith as the black dude he may live. He rarely dies in his movies.

Then we need Denzel Washington. He got killed in some movies already. I liked his performance in Training Day. Takes 30-40 bullets before hitting the ground. tounge_o.gif

Now we have a poor black guy who can be killed. To rise the realism we need another white soldier, a racist guy (like in Windtalkers) who changes from hatred into friendship as the black soldier gets killed. Now it`s all realistic and unclesam.gif !!

www.cnn.com

The U.S. military has allowed the bodies of what it says are Saddam Hussein's sons Uday and Qusay to be videotaped, in an effort to dispel doubts among Iraqis that the two are dead.

The videotape, showing extremely graphic details of the damage to the bodies, will be posted on CNN.com shortly.

"Cool!! Marta, go and bring the children here!! Where is my beer?" Ass-scratchin` "Marta, hurry!! We need more Popcorn!!" crazy_o.gif

Annnyhooo, back on topic.

30 minutes ago all the major news networks showed video footage of the Hussein corpses. Pretty gruesome, so I flipped over to CNN to watch the liberal correspondants sweat and trip over their words as they watched the entire feed, editing what would be shown to the public. The morticians patched them up pretty good, but they still look like hell and they have more make-up on than Anna-Nicole Smith. Now the faces are clearly identifiable, ans shaven, it's definitely them.

at least plenty of bodies were shown during Kosovo and Bosnia conflicts with no regard to ethnicity. I don't see the link with the GI corpses and Saddam's dead sons...showing dead GIs of any nation is pretty bad taste and against Geneva convetions. I didn't manage to see closeups of dead Iraqi GIs during this war at least. Saddams sons in the other hand were integral part of the regime and showing their images on TV served also other purpose than just to make people sick.

Well I would have to say I mostly agree with Denoir on the issue, Western nations have a double standard when it comes to race and pictures of dead/dismembered bodies. In this case though it adds no more insult to injury, it will only work against the US campaign that I can tell. The US have been going after politicians (ie civilians) in this war all along so it's good they show pictures finally. unclesam.gif Yeeeehaw. smile_o.gif

Another thing has already begun. I`ve just seen interviews with Iraqi people by N-TV (German news channel, connected to CNN if I`m not mistaken) . Many of the ones who were asked said they are proud because of the Hussein sons who died martyr fighting against the evil americans. Rumsi is achieving exactly the opposite of what he planned (well, that`s nothing new... ) . In arabic nations it`s very common to tell stories of heros and martyrs who fought outmanned and outgunned and died in a heroic last stand which took rather long. E. g. Afghanistan, I bet any tribe there can come up with such stories which influence as shining examples for future generations. Very soon many of the Iraqis will have forgotten how evil the Saddam sons were. All what will remain are the pictures of two men who fought the evil invaders and died as heros and martyrs.

TBA, well done!!

A National Review correspondant made a good point that during and after WWII photos were released of dead SS leaders and such to prove that they were deceased. I think it has more to do with portraying the bad guys dead and the good guys alive than racism.

Oh brother! What about the Iraqis dancing in the streets? We're damned if we do and damned if we don't huh?

Quote[/b] ]I just watched the news here. The first picture I saw was a nice close-up of Uday's trashed face. Apparently a bullet exited in the vicinity of his nose. This comes from the same news agency that refused to show pictures of the dead US soldiers because they were "too graphic".

I am sickened by the racism that flows through the "free media". If you have a bomb blast somewhere in Africa, you can count on that they will show graphic pictures of body parts and torn away limbs. When there is an incident with westerners involved, they never ever show explicit pictures of the victims. Remember the WTC attacks? 3,000 dead and not one photo or clip taken of the dead people and the crushed body parts lying around.

No, that would upset us too much. mad_o.gif

They probably showed the photos to reassure the Iraqis that the brothers were dead, not for ratings (though I'm sure their ratings went up some). They didn't show the graphics from 9/11 out of respect for the dead.

The US should of dragged the bodies through the streets, just like the Iraqi people did for all these years.

You mean the hussein brothers did?

I don't think the Iraqi people themselves were responsible for any slaughtering. Just Saddam, his sons, and their minions.

In this case yes. Had they not shown the pictures one would think that they were hiding something. Showing the pictures is the global equivalent of what they did in the dark ages: cut off the head of the enemy and leave at display in the city square. Not really something one would expect from a 'civilized' nation.

But it's their fault that they are in the position where people simply don't trust them. TBA have cried "wolf" a couple of times to many to be trusted for their word.

Saddams bodyguards captured

Think Saddam is nearby?

This might be evidence that he's dead. I don't know why the bodyguards wouldn't be guarding Saddam.

Maybe because htey don't want to take on an entire army on their own... I sure as hell wouldn't!! smile_o.gif

Any bets on how long Saddam can resist, if the US troops surrender... oops... !surround! him? 1 ex-dictator vs. 200+ infantry + 20 armored vehicles + gunships... I`ll make my bet with 2 hours max.  unclesam.gif

Another nice thing in Iraq. Imagine you have a nasty rich neighbour who pisses you off because he has nicer garden gnomes than you or a better TV and HIFI installation. What can you do in the current peaceful and free Iraq? Make an incognito phonecall or spread the rumor that Saddam is "guest" in your neighbour`s house. What will happen? I as the new TBA public relations advisor will tell you! At 5am in the morning more than a dozen armored vehicles will surround your sleeping neighbour and after a short warning shot lots of US infantry will storm his house and rip the walls out. The last example of our efficiency was given yesterday. And the best: Paying back a whole life of neighbour`s cruelty is all for free!!!!  tounge_o.gif  unclesam.gif

I'm sure they investigate the claims before they go into a house. And, if I remember right, 4 soldiers knocked on the door where the Hussein brothers where hiding before they took fire. I could be wrong though.

Maybe they took fire and decided they wouldn't knock on the door. smile_o.gif

You're talking to a guy who lives near 1 federal, 1 state, and 1 military penitentiary, as well as a county jail and a female penitentiary. i try to make sure all the doors are locked before i go to sleep, don't think i'd open a door for someone if the sun wasn't out.

and i sleep on the ground floor crazy_o.gif

It looks like Japan will be sending about 1000 combat engineers for "transport and construction duties." Hopefully, their first job will be the civilian infrastructure.
