The game is quite fun and hads loads of MODs to download. I have seen it for around 5 pounds in the UK.

Should be released around the same time as OFP 10 I would say.

biggrin.gif. Seriously, TFC2 looked cool when I was in grade 11 in high school, playing TFC, looking at TFC2 development screenshots, and not even dreaming that something like OFP would in a couple of years be on my PC. Now I'm in my second year of college, and highly doubting that IF TFC2 ever comes out, it would be as fun as the original OFP.

Blah blah blah.

I dont believe a single thing that comes from Valve. They dropped the ball on TF2, and unless they give an etched in stone release date for HL2 I wuite simply wont believe it will ever see the light of day mad.gif

Half Life was amazing. Every once in awhile I load it up and play it through because the story is so great, and the action is damn good for a 5 year old game. But, Valve hasnt shown us that they are more than a one trick pony. Especially since the coolest parts of HL have been built by others.

True, but I've found all modern pure FPS games like SoF2, RTCW etc. lacking the depth that HL had/still has. So imagine if HL2 (if it will ever be released) would mix everything new like Valve kinda did in the first game.

This is the first offical HL2 related announcement from Valve, so I think they have succeeded hiding the project carefully (remember that if you want to show a game in E3 it must playable). Though I'm quite sceptic (sp?) when it comes to release date, somewhere in November 2003, but we'll see wink.gif.

Say what you will about Valve, but IMHO Half Life was as revolutionary a game as OFP when it came out.

That's because after TF2, any rumors about HL2 simply wouldn't be believed by anyone biggrin.gif. Warin's post exemplifies that.

hehe, a online computer store here has HL2 listed for preorder, asking price, 79.99 (Canadian), due release date: Due to arrive in 66 Days. (6/27/2003)

MY WALLET IS IN THE CAR! lol

This is the same store that was taking pre-orders for TF2 3 years ago!  But they're not taking them anymore.

Hmmmm, maybe I should pre-order.

That way I can brag about how i got it for half price, since the value of the dollar will have probably been cut in half by inflation by the time it is released tounge.gif.

Not sure if this is a screenshot but anyway it looks quite familiar

hl2_1.jpg

Well the image above is scanned from PC Gamer, so if you mods find it too illegal just take it down.

That image is not from ingame. smile.gif The game is outdated but the 1000's of good mods make it very worthwhile. It's kinda like 100 games in one. smile.gif

I am not so sure that that is not an in game screen shot(HL2 not the original obviously), it looks possible to me. If you look at the bars they look distinctly like they have been textured and lit in a Worldcraft type enviroment, there is a strangely drawn yellowish squirt of blood at the bottom of the picture, it doesnt look very well 'made' for a piece of game artwork.

It may be art that is engineered to look like an in game shot but i think it may be some early version of the HL2 engine. Then again maybe not.

As TF2 has shown, screenshots don't mean much. After all, there are plenty of TF2 screenies out there biggrin.gif

YESSSSS I CAN POST AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, yes, Half-Life was as revolutionary as was Wolfenstein 3d.

Those were the 2 most influential games ever.

Half-Life changed everything. All of a sudden there was a new game that all the games started to copy which lead us to the games we have today.

Very fun game.

I gotta say though, wouldn't surprize me too much if TF2 was included with HL2. After all, the reason it's been in limbo all these years is as far as I understand the lack of a proper engine.

*edit* Just ran across this and thought it was very fitting for this sort of thread biggrin.gif
