Overall I really liked this mod. I thought the modelling was good and I didn't notice any major texture problems or anything. Actually playing both on the Brit side and the Argy side was alot of fun. I don't really have much opinion on the conflict so it doesn't really matter too much to me, although usually I play the Brit side cuz I really LOVE the Sten sub-machine gun (I think that's what its called). However here are some of my beefs:

1. Did most of the Brits use optical sites on their SLR's during that conflict?? I mostly just saw British soldiers with standard SLR rifles.

2. The Brit soldiers with the backpacks only have submachine guns. Please include some of them with SLR rifles.

3. Did British forces use the Beretta pistols during that conflict?

4. Did all the Argentinian forces wear goggles? It just looks wierd seeing most of them wearing goggles.

5. Some submachine guns for Argentinian commandos would be nice as would a sniper unit.

Good things:

1. The Sten submachinegun is a ton of fun to fire.

2. The sniper rifle for British forces is nice, although I wish the Brit sniper had a ghillie suit of some sort or some grass and vegitation on his helmet and back to make him harder to spot. The same for a Argy sniper would be nice.

3. The Blowpipe missile is SUPERB! I really like it alot. Great work!

4. The uniforms overall look very good. I especially like the Brit soldiers with the backpacks.

5. 105mm cannon on the Argentinian side is VERY VERY cool oh accept that the gunner doesn't seem to die when he's shot at.

Overall GREAT WORK! I really look forward to the final version.

Chris G.

No, i believe the standard issue british forces pistol back then was the Browning Hi-Power

I guess Brownig HP is aiming at beating the M19911 record of years in service.

One thing I'd like is for the spotting rifle on the AT gun to work.

You mean the MG strapped to the top? I thought that was just the crewman's personal weapon. confused.gif

No, these guns had a "spotting rifle" attached - a 1 shot rifle that fired trcer type ammo to fire before you fired the AT round to check range etc.

Don't know about this particular RR, but most US types <M106 recoilless> use a .05 spotting rifle, single shot TI round

<Tracer Incendiary> looks kinda like a scaled down M2 Browning

We changed the crew a few days before the release of the beta, it seems that we included the old version in the beta sad.gif

The units are not finished, we concentrated on the weapons. The final version will include more variants.

We include the beretta becuase we don't have info about wich was the official pistol.

Eviscerator, can you confirm your reply?

All the RI25 soldiers used googles (in combat).

We have a mauser 1911. We didn't include it because it's not playable yet. Also Argentinean forces didn't have a specific "sniper" unit. We'll include it just to have e sniper in both sides for the MP editing.

We have solved the problem of the 105mm cannon.

Thanks for the complements. <!--emo&biggrin.gif

Good idea to leave the config.cpp open.

I haven't changed addon configs before, so any tips on how to do this without buggering the d*mn thing would be most welcome.

Do I need any tools to do this?

BTW excellent work guys. Only feedback from me is the Beret on the British Para is too light. Should be maroon, not red.

Looking forward to the next release biggrin.gif

It kind of limits you if you want to play with these great British soldiers against Russians. crazy.gif This demo is a very nice suprise.<span id='postcolor'>

This is not a suprise.

Author of this mod is well known in current situation in the world, AND he sees that in Iraq, British soldiers have more cassaulties dealt to them by US troops than Iraqis.

SO who knows if british guys will not want to shoot a little bit with "east" british soldiers to Americans? tounge.giftounge.giftounge.gif

About issues...

a) damn .exe.... naaaah...

b) trenches... need flat ground... no good flat ground on the map :]

c) why cannot I shoot with an MG mounted on this huge pipe? tounge.gif

d) Blowpipe has fun up-and-down-and-up-and... trajectory :] which is +

e) but unfortunately sometimes it hits the ground far before the target

f) these new bushes... 1) a little bit too outstanding 2) the muzzle flash before it makes it transparent sad.gif

But apart from that...

(have not played the missions, only editor)

Great! :]

And...

Great bushes on the hills :]

Comparing to american and british jokes about Aghanistan and Iraq.. damn, that one is quite funny...

I don´t know why people complain about the format of the file. .exe can be annoying for single addons but for total conversion MODs it´s quite common. I don´t find this installation program annoying at all, you just run the .exe file, select your language then next then install and it´s done. You needn´t locate your Opflash directory because the program locates it for you. It installs all the files under a subfolder on OpFlash directory so it doesn´t mess with your stuff. It creates a short cut in desktop for a quick run of the MOD, you don´t like the shortcut fine delete it. You want to change the addons to another folder ? That´s easy to do I don´t think it´s a major problem...it just makes things easier...

Stop complaining about the side, we have already addressed that request and will try to change it for the next version. Please concentrate on the bugs or suggestions for the MOD.

Thanks to all who replied.

I thought this .exe file was great. All I had to do was tell it where the OFP directory was (and it already picked the correct default location). I had absolutely no problems with it - and normally I hate .exe files. BW-Mod's .exe file, for example, is totally frustrating and useless. Especially because it's in German.

I really don't know why people are complaining so much the *.exe files are a great way to install the addons. IF the british are east let that be it primarily lies up to the creators. They have done the best job possible and i applaued them espically still being able to run and make the mod evan tough Argentenia is going through economic hardship right now.

Good stuff

just a thought

British side

Don't use pistols.

not issued.

In the Army's mind why issue a pistol when you can give them a sub-machine gun and why issue a pistol if they've already got a sub-machine gun or a rifle.

To me it sounds nice. smile.gif

But I was a little shocked I looked the first time on that thread using only one eye in a rush, so I read Milli Vanilli! That band really scared me in the 80s. tounge.gifbiggrin.gifwink.gif
