Johann "onn" Bitsoenn 0 Posted February 23, 2003 Will it realy work (front and rear part independantly moving), or both parts will be staticly weilded?
blackdog~ 0 Posted February 24, 2003 Could you make the textures a little less pointy?

Unatomber 0 Posted February 24, 2003 The textures should be darker, otherwise looks nice. And those wheels, darken them quite a bit. And it looks a bit shiny, try to get a matt surface to it.
TheDarkStar 0 Posted February 24, 2003 I'll make RLBV2068, BV206 first. If anybody wants any other models like 2061, 2062 then say so and give me pictures, loads of pictures. I really need pictures.... Stay tuned.
TheDarkStar 0 Posted February 24, 2003 A little more info: I'll try to make it as a motorcycle which allows it to turn correctly. We'll se. It is the swedish standard bv206 modell which does look like this. The textures are from photos so... pointy? Right now it takes 17 people. It is supposed to take 18. 11 in the back and (Swedish saftety regulations says 17 in peacetime.) Hägglunds
cam0flage 0 Posted February 24, 2003 Wow! I thought making vehicles like this is impossible. What kind of system will yoke the 2 "cabins" together? Hmm, if this works, someone just has to make the Finnish Nasu

Hmm, if this works, someone just has to make the Finnish Nasu <span id='postcolor'> Ingame or IRL? Anyway: Ingame: Motorcycle steering. The axis would be between the two "cabins". Doesn't give a perfect result though. Wouldn't have known how if it weren't for GranQ at SFP. IRL: Hydralics. It will turn even if it's standing still. This is very userful. And what is the Nasu? Pictures?
Unatomber 0 Posted February 25, 2003 NASU (a.k.a NAuha-SIsu, Sisu Bandwagn in swedish, Tracked transport Sisu) looks a lot like your BV206. Though there are not many pictures about it, heres some links that I found. Heres what mil.fi says about it in Swedish Heres the same site in English And heres a couple of pictures
TheDarkStar 0 Posted February 26, 2003 I am not too happy about these myself. The interior sucks, the forward wagon needs remodeling, no lights and so on. Edit: Sorry about the dark images. When OFP is on they look so much brighter.
Blake 0 Posted February 27, 2003 Looks that it's getting along nicely. Don't hurry with the release, take your time and it will be great.

granQ 293 Posted March 1, 2003 yepp, this should be real great if it can be done.. the motorcycle thing i suggested makes it turn correct, execpt it will "bend" too. Kegetys made a script that worked on flat ground but not on hills and stuff (accordning to him, haven't tested yet). lets help out to find a way it can be done.. this what kegetys said about it to me. </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">_tarray = [] #loop pera setpos getpos etu _tarray = _tarray + [getdir etu] ? count _tarray > 30 : _tarray = _tarray - [_tarray select 0] pera setdir (_tarray select 0) pera setvelocity (velocity etu) ~0.0001 @speed etu > 0 goto "loop" // [21:21] <kers_Kegetys> you also need both the front and tail part of the thing as specially made vehicles [21:22] <kers_Kegetys> with the pivot point in a funny way in the middle of them <span id='postcolor'>
rat 0 Posted March 1, 2003 the French foreign legion had one for evaluation in the early 90's for crossing the marsh/swamps around the Ariane launch site in French Guyana.....worked pretty good too!
TheDarkStar 0 Posted March 2, 2003 Some new screens.. I have some problems with the textures... and some bugs. The game crashes...
Johann "onn" Bitsoenn 0 Posted March 2, 2003 Will there be some good textures to low-end mashines? Ussually, apart from some models like MT-LB, while addon looks great on max details, it looks poor (awfull textures) while playing on low details... So that is what I am worried about :] Please, try it using low settings too :]

It was back in the golden days of OFP 1985.. *sigh*. The train MOD never became anything but a dream, though, AFAIK. But this MOD looks quite possible to me, especially if he uses the bike model. smogmorph 0 Posted March 3, 2003 Are you making this thing alone?
TheDarkStar 0 Posted March 3, 2003 Yes, alone. With the support of GranQ at SFP. (Thanks, GranQ). It is my first addon so... This is why I have decided to let them have it if it turns out to be good. Problem with the bike model is that those things lean in the corners...
