    Just out of curiosity

    i recon the problem would be that while BAS has become the benchmark for OFP addons any commercial addons would have to be an order of magnitude better. i realise that our community seems intent on making the impossible possible but come on....better than BAS?!!!!! and as for those of us venting less than helpful criticism...its all subjective.. we can offer nothing more than opinion in the forums so lets keep in mind that free speech has a price.

    Quality building and object pack

    steer well clear of the concentration camp idea. does this have any place in any 'game'? it would be at least as distastefull as asking for a world trade centre that would collapse when hit by a plane. we have an incredible community sharing OFP lets not cause any divisions. how about making a POW camp instead.......?

    point taken Raven for infantry but we're talking about a sniper stalking..... trained not to give away his posn by using sh1tty camoflage and who would be wearing an appropriately dressed ghillie suit... pretty close to invisible in real terms at 600m

    yeah i thought as much but i thought it may actually add realism... would anyone be able to see a sniper at 600m? the idea was for the player to experience a stealthy sniper as an enemy. as for MP u don't have to use it...
  5. having seen the Tau stealth unit from the scifi splinter faction I was wondering if a sniper could be made more stealthy.... would it be possible to only 'see' the sniper at close range and have the longer range lods in a transparent texture? i reckon that if a sniper is transparent he will effectively blend into any island even if it has custom textures. your thoughts?
  6. it is possible..... check out the HK pack G36 when u change ammo type to silent a supressor appears on the weapon

I'm trying to launch a script if a unit is hit by a particular weapon (player's) and really need some help. ie i have a pistol(P99) with teflon armour piercing rounds..... so i think i need to use an event handler for the bullet strike(get the weapon fired id?) and need to check if the hit unit has armour(i think this is a variable???) any ideas folks? any help will be much appreciated coz i'm really bad at scripting
  9. you don't fall at 9.8m/s/s..... this is the acceleration due to gravity up to reaching terminal velocity (you don't accelerate all the way down!...this would mean the higher you go the faster you fall, which is obviously not the case!) dissapointed science teacher

    Anti missile systems?

    what would it take to down a missile in ofp? could we detect the misslile by its approach speed....> say 400m/sec....getdistance within a time limit........line up the goalkeeper system....whirr.......destroy the missile...... keeping in mind that patriot runs at about 20% in real life it may be a tricky problem to solve even in simulation. perhaps guiding an object with enough speed to execute an intercept is simply overkill?.............script it and save processor time. how this could be done is really beyond me but what do you reckon...script or intercept?
  11. quite simply outstanding gentlemen! would u consider doing any other thermonuclear weapons? i don't think they can be done any better in the current engine and a low yield merv warhead would be perfect for hunt the nuclear terrorists....(i remember a GM counter addon from ofpec i think) i am sure that i could hack together somthing eventually but seeing the quality of  your work i think it would be disrespectfull....maybe a script to exec the bomb and playsound for the sound.... any hooo whatever your decision thanks for the torps! ps just noticed how large ships are rocked by the nuke when outside the blast radius f#####g A1!
  12. assault and retreat formations according to unit nationality would be nice........... ie bounding overwatch for the yanks....flanking for the french etc we all have slightly different ways of doing things don't we?
  13. the ability to add eqipment as weapons ie LSR_medicbag...BAS_soflam etc is the way to go. no more need for additional medic,rto model and it would allow more variation in squad loadouts whilst still maintaining uniformity. please adopt this as standard. ps the Bas goggles and chopper dust effect is genius....have some of that too! pps like some of the island makers a low detail option for the game would help keep hold of the lower end pc users on board for the long run....good luck ......counting the days already. ppps.......i would think it prudent to maybe recruit certain modders as consultants no offence but DKM commanche vs Bis v80.....no contest
  14. go on.....release them ....even as a v.99 beta....... i'm fairly sure that, if not yourself, someone will add a dammage texture..... perhaps let the more able in the community have the source material? maybe a competition and the best effort becomes v.1 dammage textures? anyhoo....i would sell a testicle to secure download of this pack...keep up the great work.
