If you read the captions or whatever, they say that those are screens of them actual "programming" the terrain in the original.

Hit_Sqd_Maximus 0 Posted December 28, 2002 maybe I missed it, but all I saw was some ancient information on how AI sees things or something.

ADOY 0 Posted December 30, 2002 What are these arrows and can BIS plz in the future add an option toggle to show them for the SP missions. One problem I have always had with OF is what is the damage health of the AI I am fighting,..., versus in the real-world I could visually estimate my opponent's health. You want a health meter for your opponents? Is it too much or too little to see the blood soaked uninform of the enemy you just shot who can only retreat on his belly? ralphwiggum 6 Posted December 30, 2002 my guess is that that is forrest object. there is a tree object around it, and from the looks of those pillars i say they are those coniferous(?) trees from forrest model.
VXR 9 Posted December 30, 2002 I think the arrows are just the coding of the AI, the forest and other things like houses have a different coding, the arrown tell the AI the best way to walk over the terrain.

Furthermore, I'm sure that if you hit the main artery in the leg, one can easily bleed to death in no time at all. I'd post sample pics but the moderators would faint and who would maintain law and order then?! The whole concept of bullet entry and exit points was once discussed at length, possibley on the old OFPN forums. /ouch - cant memory map old ofpn forum

So i see no problems when in the game i shoot 4-5 time on the feet of an AI guy and then he dies : he just had an (AI) heart attack due to major pain by vicious bullet going through his feet multiple time . suchey 0 Posted January 2, 2003 There really is no alternative...if you shoot someone in the foot 4 or 5 times their foot is gone...(or at least reduced to a stringy shred of flesh...a man missing a foot isnt going to be combat effective...the only alternative to not making the guy die is to have him lay there in the field until someon comes and picks him up for an evac...I certainly dont want to wriggle around in the field forever. Perhaps the alternative is to introduce a bleeding system...whereby a soldier will have X ammount of time before he bleeds to death/enters cardiac arrest from shock unless a medic treats him. Thats about the only solution I can see.

Another point of mine was that a high velocity bullet's entry and exit points may be in completely different areas of the body. So someone could be shot in the leg, with the bullet yawwing through their body tissue and come out of the shoulder, back or elsewhere.
