Resistence runs on my 450mhz, so i think you should have no problem. And YES, you should buy Resistence, not that other silly game. Resistence shall be your saviour, pray to thee. biggrin.gif

128MB of RAM is not enough for Resistance. While you may be able to get it to load (depending on how much memory is actually free), you won't enjoy the results.

Also, OpenGL is not a supported rendering option with OFP or OFP:R -- you have to use Glide or Direct3D.

you spec can run OFPR, but i doubt if you can enjoy much.

my former system(last night) is

750Mhz

396RAM

GeForce 2 MX 100/200

and it ran decently if i took some settings low.(lowest terrain level, no shadows) and it was playable. so you might want to get some upgrade. OFP/OFPR does consume CPU power and memory.

and will direct3d run fine? cuz in every game i play, i never does<span id='postcolor'>

Glide is another 3D API (like OpenGL and Direct3D) that programmers can use to generate visuals. OFP and OFP:R only support Glide and Direct3D, but not OpenGL.

If your system is having problems with other games while using Direct3D, I would assume that OFP will fare no better. Try to obtain an updated driver for your video card, that may help.

it'll run. OFP requires less system than OFPR. but i'd suggest some upgrade like RAMs

but seems like you have problem with D3D, so i'd say you need to solve that problem first.

if you live in europe, there is OFP:Gam of the year edition available, which includes, original OFP, Red Hammer, and OFPR. it's a lot more economical.

however, if you are in North America, GOTY will not be available in sotres until Feb or March. sad.gif

Like Ralph said, you'll notice a major improvement with another 128MB of RAM.

I used to play the original OFP on a 700Mhz PIII, with 256MB RAM and an 8MB Savage S3 chipset and I was quite content (but not anymore! wink.gif )

To answer the topic title: Resistance will crawl on your computer, not run. Get some more ram and it should walk all over your machine. 512 is a good number.

After your previous posts it seems to me that you installed a warez copy and not an original. Of course you need an original to patch it mad.gif

Don`t use warez, get yourself the GOTY!

multiplies that for aproximmately 3.52

thas how expensive is goin to be for me

and unfortunately, im a hostage of "warez"

and, woopy, ive bought ofp

and u guys were dam rite(as always)

it runs smooth

only for one thing

when im in the main menu and with the ironsights on, the mouse becomes slow, like when i drag the mouse, roughly a second later it moves

but besides that

Sure you haven't defragged, upgraded, or uninstalled anything? Really? REALLY? tounge.gif

Maybe it's just that you are running Resistance at a lower detail level but it still looks nice or something. Hell, who cares. Just be happy it works biggrin.gif .

Cheers

You proclaim on the official message board of the manufacturer that you have a warez copy confused.gif

Warez=ban is the rule here.

yea i have a 450 mhz downstairs, and resistance did run much smoother on it. Maybe the coding for resistance is much cleaner than the original ofp making it run faster. just do reccomended settings and it should work perfectly

I'll get my two programmer friends to take a look at it.

Can you do that for me too? Then I can make normal airborne insertions with the C-130. smile.gif
